Try some of the UK's best curries at Birmingham's Asian restaurants
Above all else, Birmingham's Asian restaurant scene is dominated by Indian food. In the 1960s and 70s, the city accepted thousands of visitors from the subcontinent, resulting in a restaurant boom. Before long, an area in Sparkbrook had become known as the 'Balti Triangle' due to its huge array of curry houses. Many of these places have become Brummie institutions and still serve delicious baltis in the classic style. But there's more to experience: with Bengali dishes like Dum Ka Gosht (mutton curry) or chicken dishes like Kori Gassi, Birmingham's Asian restaurants allow you to dive deep into Bengali gastronomy as well.
