The food was largely good although one of ou desserts described as 'winter warming' was cold. We asked for it to be warmed and they obliged. It became very noisy after 9.00 and it was difficult to talk to each other. There was a booming disco upstairs which didn't help either! The only other downside was the other clientele left a great deal to be desired. The table next to ours (a birthday group) had a massive argument and the language was appalling. I wouldn't take children there because it was too rough.
The staff were very polite & friendly , the atmosphere in the restaurant was good . The service was swift & efficient . The food itself was of good quality & good sized portions . If there was anything not quite right , it was that there was a little bit too much grissle in my ribeye steak , hence 5 stars & not 6.Otherwise a very enjoyable experience . Will definately go back.
A very enjoyable lunchtime occasion with two friends I haven't seen for a year. I booked the table on line with minor problems after trying without success to telephone. The food was delicious. I had grilled gammon (2 steaks!) and was very well satisfied but could not forgo my favourite pudding (syrup sponge and custard!). The sole waiter was efficient and we were served quietly and well. Thanks for a very pleasant lunch.
Nice place with friendly staff. Main course was the Sunday roast trio of meat and it was amazing one of the best roasts iv had. The only thing that let it down was the desert, we all had the choc brownie sundae and it was by far the worst desert iv ever had, it was mainly warm cream that was obviously out of a can for £6 you would expect fresh cream also only one small scoop of ice cream. It started off well but we left disappointed.
First visit, very peaceful, friendly staff, meal good value for money. We Caught the Market Place offer but even if we hadn't the choice and cost looked value for money. Meal itself was well cooked and well presented. Very enjoyable post work meal. We will go again and suggest it as a venue for work meals.
Food was delicious as usual but service was poor! Had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks, restaurant was less than half full at this point on a Saturday night. Meals arrived with wrong sides, steak was well done when asked for rare. All rectified eventually by the manager after being told by our waiter that we would have to wait whilst he cleared another table and took someone else's order first! Manager was very professional sorted the problem straight away and gave us a free drink to apologise. Service has always been excellent here before so let's hope this was just a one off!
Great place to eat . Service always good . Wide choices to satisfy all tastes and ages . Nice atmosphere. Value for money . Never had a reason to complain only praise the team and of course the back room staff - the chefs ! 10 out of 10 . Highly recommended.
Nobody seemed interested in providing a good service. Another couple that dined there complained to the manager, but didn't appear to get anywhere other than be told to complain. The only impression left, is the constant "sorry for the delay in taking your order", "sorry for the delay in bringing your order", "sorry for taking your drink order to the other couple". I wouldn't mind that much, if the place was busy. From the food point of view, we were happier with the starters than the mains. The other couple sent the curry back as it was too spicy to eat.
as it always is at the Kings Head the atmosphere was lovely - we did wait for over an hour for our food though which wouldn't have been a problem if we'd not been told we only had the table for 2 hours! However we were't rushed in the end as our table wasn't required and the food was excellent.
Had a fabulous time today with my family. Beautiful Sunday roasts, friendly, helpful staff. Didn't feel rushed to leave our table, perfect. Will definitely be back soon and I'll bring my parents. My Mum will love the roasts, all most as good as hers - dare I say it!
