If you enjoy a great night out, you can certainly find it in Edinburgh's bars and pubs. There's such a selection to choose from, with everything from the traditional establishment to the hottest cocktail lounge. The secret, of course, is knowing where to find them. Many visitors to the city head for the famous pubs of Rose Street, which runs for about a mile parallel to Princes Street. This pedestrianised stretch has around 14 pubs along its length, some of them with the most fabulous original interiors to enjoy along with a drink.
If you are looking to party, then it has to be George Street. It is here you will find the crowds on weekend evenings. In summer the tables spill out onto the pavement, then at festival time in August they take over the whole street. Don't worry if you prefer a quieter drink, however, as there are local bars and pubs in Edinburgh in areas such as Stockbridge, Morningside, Leith and Newington where you can enjoy a more relaxed evening. You can also find local gems in hidden away in the West End and in the lanes of the New Town. Cheers!
