About Miramare
More about the restaurant: Miramare
With charming views of the Firth of Forth and its three impressive bridges, Miramare is a South Queensferry Italian restaurant you can’t afford to miss. It’s a small place on Edinburgh Road that’s stylish and somewhat classic on the inside, with menus that always consist of a selection of fresh fish, lunch options and an evening a la carte. Miramare is quite simply one of those restaurants that seems to make you smile without even trying, and it’s rightly very popular. Do reserve a table in advance.

As we’ve already described the very charming South Queensferry setting of Miramare Italian restaurant, we’ll go ahead and give you a rundown of what you can expect from the menus. Lunch at Miramare means two courses for a very pleasant £10.95, served between noon and 2:30pm with a set menu that takes in all the Italian favourites that South Queensferry locals go wild for. For dinner, you have the whole a la carte available to you and for us it’s certainly one of the best in this part of suburban Edinburgh.
Begin with antipasti, of course – hot or cold – then move onto a homemade plate of pasta, a classically-topped pizza, meat, fish or chicken. Highlights for us? Well, you’d be very unwise to miss the rigatoni alla norcina complete with gorgeous Italian sausage, just as you would the homemade gnocchi with fresh mozzarella. Alternatively, it’s impossible to go wrong with classic Italian-style lamb chops marinated with rosemary, garlic and white wine sauce, or the fillet steak in a cream, brandy and peppercorn sauce. For a wonderfully relaxing meal out in South Queensferry and delightful views as well, Miramare should be your first choice.
