Thinking about making a North Nineteen booking?

North Nineteen is a traditional steak and alehouse, located on the corner of Kingsdown Road and Sussex Way in London’s Holloway, a short stroll from Upper Holloway station. Behind the clipped hedges out front is a fantastic outdoor seating area, where on a lucky evening you’ll find an Argentine BBQ going strong. Ok, so that’s less than traditional for an English steak and alehouse, but this is the 21st-century after all. Moving inside, you’ll find a cosy pub (and another courtyard area) with an incredible selection of ales to choose from. At least six Cask Marque-accredited ales – with strong representation from Cornish ales – are kept fresh on tap at North Nineteen, while biannual Ale & Cheese festivals keep the real ale fans happy. The wine menu is seasonal and ever-changing, while the whisky selection is fine and reliable.

North Nineteen’s Kingsdown Road and Sussex Way premises is, for many, all about quality British cuisine. For an excellent introduction, why not pop in for North Nineteen’s Sunday roast. Beef, lamb, chicken, pork, and a veggie roast are all available, accompanied by traditional side servings of roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, garden peas, Yorkshire pud and gravy. We mentioned the left-of-centre Argentine BBQ, but North Nineteen’s steaks are where it’s at. Choose your cut, your level of doneness, and your sauce, and get your knife and fork ready. This classic pub in London’s Holloway also has a monthly open-mic night for a night of carousing by the open fire, while groups of four or more receive a complimentary bottle of wine when they take in a three-course meal.
