Food excellent, service was attentive without being pushy. The restaurant has a nice vibrant atmosphere without being too overpowering. Had the restaurant been fuller it might've been a bit noisy. We were given a table at the rear which was good as I am not sure I would have liked one near the door.
Lovely, very helpful and attentive waitress. Excellent meal with a good choice and we enjoyed the free glass of kir royale! Will certainly come again.
Lovely evening...food was great, very good value and the atmosphere was relaxing. Brilliant staff and service. We are planning to return sometime soon to have the breakfast.
Friendly service, lovely food. . . ... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
We have been to Côte for a wonderful breakfast a few times but, as we were later in Peterborough, we decided to go for lunch and weren’t disappointed. We had seen monkfish, one of our favourites, on the menu but that day they had run out. The manager went out of his way by going to a local shop to get some and we were surprised and delighted when it arrived at our table. The rest of the meal was also delicious. We had the beetroot starter and the raspberry creme brûlée - all from the specials menu. This resturant is a wonderful find, not only because of the quality of the food but also because of the staff. They are all so friendly, polite and attentive and, as you can see, go out of their way to make your time there as enjoyable as possible. Many thanks to Luke, the manager.
Busy Friday evening. We'd booked, but a bit of checking by 2 people to find our reservation. Once seated, everything went smoothly. First server told us she was new, but did very well. The later one wasn't so good and it took a while to get our desserts, then one was brought incorrectly. Food was excellent, all dishes very good. Noise level was very high, not helped by over loud music. We've been here several times recently and the overall experience is very good. However, we really object to the principle of 12.5% service being added automatically. We would usually offer 10% but many people visiting for first time could miss this and add a tip, paying twice. Each time I've needed to remind dining companions it is included, even those who have been before. Do the staff always get it? How can you prove that to diners? Dont make us feel uncomfortable by having to ask to have it removed. It would seem insulting to the individual server, when it's not their fault.
I booked a table for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday this week and arranged for two very dear friends to join us as a surprise. I spoke to the manager a couple of days before and explained this to her while also arranging for a bottle of bubbles to be waiting at the table. Nothing was too much trouble and the front of house manager went along with the whole thing on the day - very much adding to our enjoyment. To summarise: Cote Brasserie in Peterborough is simply excellent - really delicious food, excellent service and staff and a delightful atmosphere. Highly recommended
We had a wonderful meal with you and the staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. A young blonde girl, I'm so sorry I didn't get her name, was lively and very welcoming - she looked like she really liked her job which is good to see and experience. My ony critism would be that it felt like everyone who worked there served us, a small thing I know but it's pleasant to have one waiter/ress. As I say very small because our food and drink was excellent and we will definitely return. We came on a recommendation and I have all ready passed that recommendation on to other friends. Keep up the good work and please keep your delicious food in Peterborough!
Very good meal starts and mains arrived quickly, a bit too quickly but then the service seemed to stop. It took around 45 mins for anyone to come over. When we wanted to pay by credit card again it took around 20 mins as the waitress was really busy and only one card machine+ Suggestions would be, get a couple more card machines and serving staff as you clearly did not have enough. Our table was at 18.45 and we had our starters and mains within an hour. We left at 22.00 so that gives an idea of the wait! Could not fault the food. Service we had we could not fault just that the poor waitress was rushed off her feet.
We requested a quiet table for our booking, but although this was taken into account by the management and we were assured it was the quietest in the restaurant, we couldn't communicate with the waitress, let alone each other due to the noise. We complained and were invited to sit upstairs for our dessert and coffee. The food for 5 out of 6 of our party was excellent, but my choice ( belly pork) was dry and a tiny portion. When I raised this with the waitress she was clearing the the plates, she wished I had raised it before so that she could have replaced the portion- a valid point, but I hadn't wanted to spoil the evening further by sending food back. Instead, the item was removed from our bill. We feel the restaurant dealt with all the negative issues well, but wish they hadn't occurred in the first place.
