Great place for Indian/Nepalese food, friendly service, one of my favourite place to eat
Staff were extremely helpful, patient and kind. Food was delicious & the restaurant was kid friendly. We occupied a private room/area to accommodate a large party for a special occasion - it was perfect for our needs. We had special dietary requirements, which were accommodated with no fuss. I would strongly recommend.
Amazing food and amazing staff. Pay a bit more for the expensive bottles of wine but it's worth it. Careful of the chili mushrooms unless you really like spice!
Fantastic..service great ..food out of this world .presentation of food was lovely. Our waiter was very helpful . Will definitely be going back very soon 👍😚❤❤😊
The Saffron Club has a great menu, a wide range of options. The staff are welcoming. Restaurant is on the small side but appears very popular with the locals, which I can understand as the food is lovely! The only negatives would be the cost is slightly high (but worth it!) and the drinks menu (specifically the non-alcoholic & cider options) is limited. On the whole, would definitely return & advise to book in advance (as I did) due to the popularity of the restaurant.
The food was generally okay, reasonable portions and reasonably priced. However, the service was well below bar. Waiters were constantly congregated around the bar area talking (not paying attention to customers),service was slow, and there was little (if none) where customer service is concerned. The service was very clinical, with no engagement with customers and felt purely like a business transaction (from start to finish). It's a shame as the service was not as me and mother remembered it to be a few years ago, and it somewhat ruined what was supposed to be a but of a special occasion - with my mother meeting my girlfriend from France for the first time. We could have chosen from any number of restaurants locally, and/or in the West End but ultimately chose The Saffron Club based on our previous experience (2-3 years ago). I will certainly not be returning to restaurant anytime soon, nor will I be recommending it to anyone.
Hey, the guys at the club spoiled us!!! They laid on a special chef's basket of naan for us after seeing all my pleas. Unbelievably to all I had different dish from my green chicken curry but equally good. Service, hospitality and food once again 100%. So appreciate the pre-emptive effort to meet my chef's basket continual whine - still when will it be back on the menu? As I now know you read this at the Club - also appreciate the cheese and peas. You are a great and so hospitable team. - Thanks
I'd seen lots of positive reviews about The Saffron Club and it did not disappoint. Amazing food and good, unobtrusive, service. The portion sizes are spot on and don't leave you feeling uncomfortably full. It is a busy little restaurant which I'd say is testament to how good it is.
Good attentive staff, very well spiced food and the best chicken tandoori dish I've tasted in a long time. The only reason I have not given top marks is: please clean sticky areas like bannister rail, door handles to toilets etc. It would take 10 minutes each day and would make a huge difference because the Ladies facility was spotless but sticky to the touch door handles lets it down.
This is some of the tastiest Indian/Nepalese food I've had in London and the service was very good. I'd definitely recommend The Saffron Club to anyone in south-east London.
