An oft overlooked attraction for visitors to London, the Hampstead Heath is a massive protected green space, stretching 320 hectares. Unlike many of London’s highly manicured and polished parks, the Heath is like a piece of the forest left untouched within the city. Just surrounding the Heath are 300-year-old pubs, Greek restaurants and even pizza shops. These make for wonderful locations to grab a bite to eat after swimming in one of Hampstead Heath’s numerous bathing ponds. If the weather is less-than-perfect, there are a number of theatres within arm’s reach, including the Pentameters Theatre, Hampstead Theatre and New End Theatre. Go check out a modern play after enjoying a fancy dinner at one of the many upscale restaurants or perhaps treat yourself to an after-play drink in a nearby cocktail bar. Just steps from the theatres and surrounding the Heath exists a unique variety of pubs as well as the best restaurants in Hampstead. This region is full of culture, delicious food and the arts.
