London Holborn, now sometimes known as Midtown, is a central London area that was traditionally home to London’s biggest journalistic enterprises and massive law firms. Holborn’s main drag, Holborn High Street, displays a range of rare Tudor architecture, some of which existed even before the 1666 Great Fire of London. On the same street are a number of excellent restaurants, quaint cafes and elegant bistros, the perfect spot for brunch or a tasty dinner. Nearby, the medieval St. Etheldreda’s church delights visitors with its magnificent architecture. Not much of a residential area, Holborn might seem a bit business-oriented. Although the area looks somewhat commercial in parts, finding great places to eat in Holborn isn’t as difficult as it seems. Kingsway is one of Holborn’s major roads and a favourite spot for the area’s hungry foodies. The area is loaded with cute tea houses, charming bakeries and unique confectioners.
