Nestled between Victoria station and Vincent Square is one of Westminster’s most beloved Italian ristoranti, 2 Amici. The ambience at this Rochester Row eatery is pure, down-home Italian, with fine food and a wide range of select wines paired perfectly to dishes that reflect the regional cuisines on offer. Classically-structured menus betray a predilection for only the most classic of Italian dishes, and the reviews demonstrate our opinion that 2 Amici is a little gem in London’s west.
2 Amici’s friendly atmosphere and cosy setting down Rochester Row (close to Victoria station and Vincent Square) makes this Westminster Italian restaurant ideal for intimate dinner dates or special family outings. The business lunchers can go elsewhere in London’s west – this is a social, family affair. That said, there is, naturally, an affordable set menu if you’d like to let 2 Amicis chefs show you how it’s done: soup, bruschetta, or mozzarella to start; spaghetti bolognese or carbonara, penne arrabiata or 2 Amici’s signature chicken and peppers in a red wine, tomato and basil sauce, or the risotto for the main event; followed by the acclaimed 2 Amici tiramisu.
As for 2 Amici’s a la carte menu, it too is reasonably priced for an independent Italian restaurant in this part of west London. We’re talking an authentic Italian ristorante sandwiched between Victoria station and Vincent Square in Westminster here, and while the menu is classically structured – as befits such a true Italian eatery – the prices are family-friendly (and allow one to impress one’s date without depressing one’s wallet). There’s an emphasis on seafood at this Rochester Row restaurant, with calamari and tiger prawns among the antipasti, and crab linguine, tiger prawn farfalle, and seafood risotto among the pasta and risotto dishes. Fresh grilled tuna steaks and sea bass fillets are two delectable pesce options, and as we mentioned earlier, you really can’t go past the homemade tiramisu if you reserve a sought-after dinner for two at 2 Amici.
As always a courteous service and delicious meal delivered punctually. The sun was shining and we were able to enjoy sitting at a table outside (only slightly marred by a noisy garbage lorry parked opposite collecting garbage for rather a long time)
The food was excellent and the service was very pleasant and personable. The restaurant was able to accommodate my son's special request (he is 10 years old) for pasta, with chicken strips, olive oil, no cheese. The restaurant had no issue w/ the special request. We will certainly return when next in London.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was equally very good. Although eating late at night I wasn't made to feel rushed at any point.
Good food, good service and a friendly atmosphere. We continue to go to Mario's because we have been supporting his restaurants for the last 20 yrs!
Lovely meal (I had risotto porcini and my friend linguine with seafood), friendly staff, not very busy today , so we didn't have to wait very long. Recommended, as it is in a quiet location, away from the crowds. Like a slice of Italy in SW1
Gem or a restaurant. The food was freshly cooked and tasted great and the service was very good. I am going to recommend this to my colleagues and will definitely visit again.
Delicious food and wine, great service and lovely ambience. Who would have thought you'd find all this so close to Victoria Station! A complete oasis and great value for money
The meal was good. The risotto porcini was excellent so was my daughter's pasta. We would certainly return if we were living in London. The restaurant was small, comfortable and appeared well kept.
Food and service were fabulous. very nice and comfortable space. We were treated like we were visiting family. Will definitely return when we are back in London.
