Amazing food and great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
Delicious!! Definitely worth a visit if you want to have some delicious food and delightful drinks.
Fantastic rustic experience in the heart of Covent Garden. Gluten free pizza was delicious!
Loved the restaurant, it was very cosy, the food was lovely and we didn't wait too long for it, the prices were good and it was a perfect location in Covent Garden for going straight to the theatre, thanks
Overall, this was a good experience. I booked for lunch on-line and received a confirmation call from the restaurant a couple of days later - so far so good. However, during the call I was notified that my party could only have the table for 2 hours. Since this was a Christmas get together with friends I see only occasionally, this wasn't ideal. When I queried it, I was advised that this had been made clear in the email at the time of booking. However, I checked the email following and could find no mention of this. So worth checking this or bearing it in mind when booking. On the day though, the restaurant were very understanding and patient when some of my party turned up late and we were able to have the table for longer in the end - whether this was due to a cancellation was unclear. The service was good, the surroundings lovely and the wine very good and reasonably priced. I was a bit disappointed with my pizza, which for £15 wasn't very good - the base was too thin and crunchy and the pesto which was drizzled all over tasted very bitter - it must have been made from rocket rather than basil. So room for improvement, but a nice place to meet up with friends. I would consider coming here for drinks only another time, as there is a nice bar overlooking the main square.
We spent a great time at 21, even when we had to leave quickly for the theater. It is located in the heart of Covent Garden market which makes it a place with a great location, especially if you have tickets for The Lion King. The staff was friendly and polite. The food was amazing, I really liked it and it didn't take long to get it served - around 10-15 minutes. It wasn't loud or noisy, probably because it wasn't busy at that time (6:30pm Thu) but I asked the waiter and he said it gets busier later on, so bear in mind it may get really noisy. I forgot to mention that we were seated at the basement floor, which has that romantic vibe I was looking for (great atmosphere when you want to take someone on a date ;). Recommended!
We were staying nearby on business and wanted somewhere to relax and unwind over dinner - 21 was ideal. I've seen more extensive menus but we were still able to choose dishes of interest. My wife and I shared a platter of meat and cheese antipasti which was enjoyable and plentiful. She followed with (effectively) macaroni cheese. Well cooked but could have had a few more mushrooms in it for her taste. My pizza was of a good size, with plentiful fresh toppings and with a thin (which I enjoyed) base - all very tasty. We shared a mixed sorbet - again, tasty and of sensible size. The house white wine proved to be well up to the job. All the staff w met were pleasant, friendly and enthusiastic and deserving of the inclusive service charge. Given their prime location, we felt the mid £70's bill was fair value overall. Thanks - we enjoyed our evening!
Had a lovely time at 21. Food was great! Great portions for starters, mains and deserts. Lovely staff, very welcoming and friendly as it was our first time there (I'm sure they're very welcoming not just to newbies). Would definitely recommend it and would definitely go back! Had such a fun evening and lost track of time, so much so that when we asked what time they closed, we told told 'we closed an hour ago'! We didn't realise the place was actually empty and the staff didn't even kick us out! So lovely! Thank you!
The restaurant had a romantic feel and is perfect for a date. My girlfriend and I ordered pizzas, they arrived promptly and were of a high standard. Definitely worth there price. Happy hour provided that added bonus, although there isn't a lot to choose from, £12.50 for a bottle of wine in the heart of London certainly represents good value. Only downside was that service was slow. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy and we had to wait around 10 minutes for the bill. Baring in mind we were going to the theatre after, it caused a little bit of panic. Overall a good experience though, and we will be back
Not very easy to find (there are a number of different 21 branded eating options in the area), so don't be frightened to ask someone! We had the table next to the fish tank, which was entertaining albeit a bit of a squash for 8 (6 would be perfect). This area of the restaurant is very private, though perhaps could do with a bit of tarting up. Service was very good. The food was reasonable rather than exceptional - my pasta was a bit overcooked, and the others in our group weren't bowled over. I've had better pub meals. Having said that, I think it's very reasonably priced for the area, so overall not bad value. Ambience and location is excellent - but probably not a good choice for real foodies.
