Recommended by a friend who is a professional chef. All I can say is — great service by extremely friendly staff, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. What more could you ask for.
Food is always delicious ,comes out quick. Great place to catch up with friends. love the banquet. Everyone leaves happy. Make sure you book though to ensure you don't get disappointed. Definitely worth the try.
Favourite find in Chapel St. Lovely fresh flavours, well priced food and wine, Save room for the avocado parfait dessert. The staff are terrific too!
I love coming back to Amok the food is alway amazing!! Great in a small group when you select the Chefs selection. You get to try almost the whole menu.
The missus and I finally got to try the food after a couple of unsuccessful attempts due to the restaurant being booked out. Definitely worth the wait! Ordered the 8 course sharing menu and was blown away by how much food we got compared to the cost of it. Have tried many degustation menus at various fine dining establishments and have coughed up triple the amount of money for inferior food and service. Loved the flavour combinations. Was a bit skeptical at first as I have never been a big fan of Cambodian food even though that is my heritage. But chef Woody has managed to combine a western spin to this south eastern cuisine that packs a punch. Was also impressed by the fact that we had an input into what the chef included in the menu. The wait staff did an excellent job of explaining the menu and the food being presented to us. Will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends! We'll be back!!
It is ok to go if have no expectation. We booked it for a bday dinner and it turns out just average specially compare to the price we paid for the chef selection feed me menu. The food taste ok, they all quite similar in taste yet presentation is probably the best out of the lot. But big thing missing and we all feel that they can do better is the service. Consider such food quality, it deserves a better and more professional waitressing service. For example, we went about 8 to 10 courses of chef selection dishes, each have interesting ingredient, each dish arrival should at least deserve a intro of what is in it. But all we got is just food left to the table and waiter just walk off without even telling what is the detail about it. Very disappointing. Feels like people work there just being there. no effort at all. 7 of us as a group all agreed we will not go back due to no speciality after all yet we spent 100 per head for the night. With so many competition out there nowadays, it could be much better than this.
If Amok Restaurant were in Hong Kong, it could easily be awarded a one Michelin star for its creativity and execution. The food is elegant and honest. The desserts here are what you would find in a three Michelin starred restaurant in Hong Kong. Brilliant.
Ours was a booking for 7 people and we ordered the $54 per person menu which we all thoroughly enjoyed. One of our group was a vegetarian and she was well catered for. The timing for bringing out each lot of dishes was well spaced - not too quick, not too slow. Not sure just how Cambodian the food is, but it was really delicious. 7/7 of us gave Amok a big tick!
Amok Restaurant in Windsor is the best kept secret in Chapel St., serving Cambodian cuisine. You can book, and the noise factor is low, unlike some other hot restaurants in the area!
We had our Christmas function at Amok restaurant and we were very impressed with every dish that came out. The whole dining couldn't get any better. we would like to thanks chef Woody and his team for being so accommodated on our requirements such as kid meal/vegetarian options and allergy. Highly recommend to everyone who want to try cambodian foods!
