Interesting food. Lovely staff. We had a good time today
Very friendly service. Good tasty food. The atmosphere was very relaxed, didn’t feel rushed at all
Staff were lovely and amazing food. Atmosphere is nice and food portions are good. Great value for money. Highly recommended
A very enjoyable lunch, with good service and excellent food.
This was my second visit to Andina Peruvian Kitchen, which hooked me in from the first visit. I booked online for a birthday celebration that was a simple process and was greeted to be escorted to my table downstairs. This restaurant is always busy and has that lively atmosphere that is a hallmark of a popular place. I arrived early and was waiting for one more guest. There was no pressure to order quickly as the staff had a very supportive vibe. The food is very much tapas based, presented well with good flavours. In particular the selection of wines are of good quality with an interesting array of cocktails. A particular lovely touch was the staff singing happy birthday to my mother and providing a free dessert, which was a touching gesture. The staff provided recommendations on the menu and helped guide where needed. Overall a very pleasant experience and certainly will return for another enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!
I have been to Andina quite a few times now. They do the whole Peruvian thing very well. It's nice to go out for a meal and not feel horribly stuffed and carb-loaded afterwards. All the ingredients are fresh and light and well, I love ceviche so its my kinda place! I've not yet tried their breakfast menu but I know the rest of the menu well. If I'm out for lunch I'll go for a juice or smoothie - they are delish. If its a dinner thing I go straight for a pisco sour! They had some nice looking fruity versions too - for my next trip maybe. I have tried every item from the 'Ceviche Bar' but I think my favourites are the Andina and the Stone Bass & Fig Tiradito. Though that's a hard decision to make! I love the addition of the sweet potato in the Andina and the fig works so well in the spicy tiger's milk of the later. I love love love tiger's milk. It's usually made using lime juice, sliced onion, chilies, salt, pepper and the juices of the fish it helps to marinate. Though every chef adds their own twist. If you're feel like something a little more meaty, then order the chicken and lamb skewers. The lamb is cooked to perfection; very slightly pink and so juicy. The herb sauce compliments it well. The quinoa, avocado and cucumber salad is also a great dish to order alongside the rest of your meal. And finally, desert. Another south american treat I love is dulce de leche. I remember a friend of mine from school went back to Brazil every summer and brought me back a jar of the stuff. Back then, you couldn't get it anywhere, but that didn't stop me from eating it out of the jar with a spoon! If you have a sweet tooth I recommend ordering the filo pastry with dulce de leche and pecan ice cream. You won't regret. Its not a cheap meal out but the food is fresh and made well and a also great introduction to ceviche if you've not tried it before. Next time you're in Shoreditch definitely pop in.
We booked in advance which is advisable as there were queues outside the door! I always think that says a lot about a restaurant and it's popularity. The food.......THE FOOD! .... was something else! What an lovely surprise! We had the Black Olives as a starter......I don't think we have tried any as delicious, ever! Very ripe and delicate, definitely a treat on the tastebuds. My Partner had pork stuffed Squid, he was really impressed - although the portions appeared small in fact you wouldn't need too much as it was rich and very filling. I opted for Prawns, Mussels and Calamari on a bed of coriander rice - bit like a soup. I loved it! It was spicy and something you needed time to We chose a side salad with Beetroot, Mango?, and a raspberry coulis it's was amazing, the fruit was Just perfectly succulent making this dish simply delicious and leaving you wanting more. All washed down with a bottle of Malbec. There was loads of attention to detail and the presentation was second to none. We left without sampling desserts, purely as we were celebrating our 6th Anniversary and I had pre made my partners favourite cheese cake which we zoomed home for. We both loved everything about this place, the atmosphere, the decor, the staff, the music.... thank you all we had a really memorable time.....we'll be back to sample everything! Loved the menu, it catered nicely for us 'gluten intolerant' folk. Service was very prompt and our waitress very attentive polite, happy and very helpful. We would highly recommend to all.
Fantastic Peruvian food. Presentation is elegant, the mix of flavours is subtle and complex. The overall taste of the food is upbeat, fresh and punchy with the inclusion of the peruvian chilli ingredients such as tigers milk. My partner and I love ceviche so this place is great for us, he is Colombian so we spend alot of time eating ceviche over there and really miss it in London. We've been to 'Senor Ceviche', 'Ceviche' restaurant and Andina twice; I actually prefer the layout of 'Ceviche' in Soho and the staff there are super friendly, but the food at Andina is very marginally more sophisticated. The table we were given through Quandoo was in a great place (central / top floor) however I did find it was a little loud, and generally the atmosphere was very busy but it was a Saturday evening so only to be expected really. My favourite starter are the chicharrones, oh and the quinoa brownie is not to be missed!
I love Andina and I'm a regular customer but I had dinner last Sat and it was quite disappointing. The food was lovely as always but the service was bad. We were celebrating my sister's birthday and we wanted to have a special night. We tried to book with time in advance but the table that we got was at 22.30 as the restaurant was full. It's not a problem if the service is good but it wasn't like that. The waitress put pressure on us all the time to order desserts or coffee when we were having the starters! She didn't take the empty plates when she should do it and she brought our coffees twice when we hadn't finish our dinner. Her attitude wasn't very kind neither (something weird because I always meet very nice staff when I visited the restaurant before. I worked as a waitress some time ago and I understand that you can have mistakes but you should be attentive of your customers and be very kind because then the mistake is not so big. A smile is free. We felt that she wanted to finish the service and she were putting pressure on us but actually we pay the same bill that the customers at 8 pm for a worst service. I think is better don't take bookings at 10.30 pm if you think you can't give a good service. Hope you can improve these aspects. Good food is a must but with good service is a winner. Thank you very much.
The food was good - colourful and tasty. The service less so. We had a reservation for 18:00 and we were told upon arrival that we had to leave at 20:00. Fine, that's how it works in London after all (!!!), i.e. having to eat with a stopwatch at hand. The first part of the dinner was really rushed, with waiters taking away from our table plates that had still food in them and glasses that hadn't been emptied yet. Not the most relaxing dining experience. Once we were done with the main courses, the army of waiters in the (very small) restaurant suddenly forgot about us, probably as they were too busy talking to each other. After waiting for 15 minutes, I had to ask the waiter that was standing behind my husband staring into space whether we could have a dessert menu. We finally ordered our desserts, which came shortly after. But then we had to wait another 10 minutes to have the bill and another 10 to get the change... I would have expected a better service an more attention to detail for such a highly rated and expensive restaurant.
