About Anglo Spice Grill

As the oldest Indian restaurant in the Hackney neighbourhood of Stoke Newington, Anglo Spice Grill is a certifiable veteran in the London Indian restaurant scene. It’s been over forty years since Anglo Spice Grill set up shop down Stoke Newington Church Street, and while the look has changed with the times, and the menu has undergone revamp after revamp as the tastes of curry lovers change, the ethos remains the same: to serve guests an incredible variety of authentic Indian dishes at good prices. These days, Anglo Spice Grill have an even wider remit, with their new mangal kitchen serving up delicious Turkish cuisine!

More about Anglo Spice Grill, London

Anglo Spice Grill has been developing their repertoire of Indian delicacies in Stoke Newington for so long their menu is commensurately extensive. These days there’s even a Mediterranean section which rather than confuse this Hackney restaurant’s mission, serves only to strengthen what is already a good showing from the talented chefs in Anglo Spice Grill’s Stoke Newington Church Street kitchen. But it’s fair to say that regulars from across London tend to turn to the selection of old favourites – number 103 is simply curry, but there’s familiar avatars of Indian cuisine like madras, vindaloo, rogan, and more as well.

We like to take the pulse – and especially when it comes to Indian, the temperature – of Indian restaurants in London by turning to the house specialties. Here at Anglo Spice Grill (lest we forget the oldest Indian restaurant in Stoke Newington), the fiery Bangladeshi-style naga chicken or lamb is a heavy hitters for fans of very hot curry. Those looking for something on the fringes of Indian cuisine are advised to go for the Nepali add, a traditional Himalayan dish that’s also fairly spicy. There really is so much to explore at Anglo Spice Grill that we can only advise you jump in and book to find out why this player has been in the game so long.
