One of sixty worldwide outlets, East Ham’s Anjappar specialises in serving Chettinad cuisine to intrepid diners from across London. Originating in Southern India, specifically Tamil Nadu, the cuisine is spicy and bold, utilising a great deal of seafood and sun-dried meats in the kitchen. Found on the High Street North just moments from East Ham underground station, Anjappar is perfect for spice lovers and adventurous eaters alike – we’re sure there’s flavours on the menu you’ve yet to experience!
Opened in Chennai way back in 1964, Anjappar has made a name for itself across the entire globe. Pioneering the South Asian dining scene with their huge array of classic Chettinad dishes, Anjappar is a legend in culinary world. Open every day of the week on the northern section of the High Street in London’s East Ham, Anjappar serves up incredible snacks, mains and decadently sweet desserts in a casual setting.
Serving authentic South Indian cuisine to the London masses, Anjappar is one of the city’s top Indian restaurants. With unique, hard-to-find specials like rabbit masala and deer roast, the restaurant isn’t just your run-of-the-mill South Asian dining establishment. A speciality from India’s south, dosas are available in just about every variety – with fillings like masala, onions, egg, chicken, and mutton, plus many others – and guests are invited to try South Indian breads like Ceylon chicken parotta and chapathi. Try something new this evening with a dinner at East Ham’s Anjappar, but book early!
