Brixton’s Bamboula has skyrocketed in popularity, becoming one of South London’s most popular Caribbean restaurants. A large menu of delights awaits you, including Bamboula’s very own spiced rums. Try a shot of The Hot Ting, a rum infused with peppercorn and fresh chillies, or enjoy the rum mixed up in a cocktail with homemade ginger beer. Take one of the incredible curries, made with your choice of goat, chicken, fish, or callaloo, served with a side of rice and peas and roti bread. Just stopping by for a quick bite? Then be sure to try a couple of Bamboula’s Patties for Fatties, Jamaican-style patties stuffed with your choice of oxtail, pumpkin, curried goat, chicken jerk or ackee. Finish up with Sweet Tings like banana fritters, tropical fresh fruit salad or a spiced brownie or take another cocktail and go out with a bang.
Great food. Owners are very kind and welcoming. Did not have time for desert but definitely will go back if I ever visit UK again.
This is my second visit to Bamboula and their culinary delights did not disappoint. The ackee and saltfish was exquisite, and the homemade ginger beer is the best I've ever tasted! Decidedly my restataurant of choice whenever I'm in Brixton going forward.
I came across Bamboula on the internet, whilst researching a location to take my sister for dinner, on her birthday. A mid point between us threw up Brixton. We met and made our way there. The setting is relaxed and has a unique charm. The service was prompt, the food was excellent and the price was right. I will go again.
