Bar Brig radiates cool and is quite the specialist in lavish cocktails and popular Scottish craft beers. It’s a very nice spot to enjoy a drink in Leith, particularly when you have a lovely little food menu to peruse as well. Choose from Brig burgers that are internationally-inspired to offer an impressive selection of fillings and styles, sizzling steaks, sharers and plenty of other pub-style classics. Right on Leith Walk, Bar Brig is certainly worth the trip from elsewhere in Edinburgh, but do reserve a table in advance – it’s also very popular.
Established in 2015, Bar Brig is only small but it’s reputation as one of the best bars in Leith is very quickly growing. It’s a cosy spot, right on Leith Walk, as we say, with plenty of cool lighting, exposed wood and general good character. It’s one of those gems that you’re very glad you know about in a city like Edinburgh. Anyway, the bar is very-well stocked not just with craft beers and bartenders who know how to make a cocktail, but with a fine selection of wines and spirits as well.
Food, food, glorious food is what else you’ll find at Bar Brig, and you can snack on some haggis balls or some crunchy cod fish fingers. Or, if you feel you can manage a main, go for chilli con carne, mac & cheese or a lighter crayfish and avocado salad. Meanwhile, every one of Bar Brig’s burgers is 4oz and made with 100% Scottish produce. There’s the classic beef for the burger purists among you, The Scotsman with haggis and black pudding, or The Mexican that packs quite the spicy kick. Edinburgh, Leith, you can’t go wrong with Bar Brig. Go and fill your boots.
We had a fab time last night. The food was great, as was the atmosphere, music, staff and of course the drinks. Great service from you all and we will defo be back again xx

Visited this evening for their weekly 50% off food event on a Tuesday. Great value and friendly service. Food was good quality too, lovely atmosphere and music.
Friendly prompt service. We went for the steak deal. The steaks were more fatty than I would have liked. Generous glasses of wine and crispy fries with steak deal. Cosy atmosphere in Bar Brig - worth a visit.
It’s a great wee place with friendly staff. The food and cocktails were good and not too expensive. There is live music (not when we were there) and good and drink offers on certain days if the week.
Wonderful food and wonderful service. Such reasonable prices for great quality food. Great deals every day of the week. Great music on certain nights too.
Sadly this was the worst experience ever. It got so loud and squashed we had to leave before we could get my birthday voucher prossecco after spending £45. It was horrible and I am not sure if we will go back. Even though you still owe me that voucher.
Great place fantastic food and service you can’t fault this place
