The Inner West is one of the Little Saigons of Sydney, and there are plenty of superb places to eat Vietnamese food throughout the area: few of them better than Bay Tinh in Marrickville. Its location – directly between Sydenham and Marrickville train stations on Victoria Road – is easily reached from all over Sydney, and the restaurant’s extensive menu makes it worth the trip, with noodle soups, spicy favourites and plenty of vegetarian options to please your whole party.
Few places in the Sydney area are better for those looking to eat Asian food than the Inner West, and in Marrickville, Bay Tinh has one of the widest ranges of Vietnamese food available anywhere. One of the top places to pick up a Saigon special on Victoria Road, near Sydenham station, this Vietnamese restaurant offers up a menu filled with the favourites of South East Asian cuisine, which is intended to be shared across your group.
Vietnamese food is intended for sharing, and at Bay Tinh, the kitchen offers up a full range of platters and soups to split across your group. The table for 6 of us at the window had plenty of room, very comfortable. The food was as good as expected from other reviews, very flavoursome and well presented. Service great and staff very friendly. Would recommend without hesitation.
Great staff, food and atmosphere. Authentic delicious dishes. We travel a long way to get there but very much worth it. Takes us back.to our wonderful visit to Vietnam.
Wonderful food with great service. It was a busy Saturday night but lots of staff and an efficient kitchen meant everything flowed seamlessly, Highly recommmended for groups and a quick bite before a show.
It's been a while since I have been to Bay Tinh, since they closed the Crows Nest restaurant but the original Marrickville restaurant still has the magic. We went for my birthday dinner. The food and service was great as always. Thoroughly recommend the cube beef (so tasty and tender), banh xeo (very tasty), salt & pepper calamari (delicious) and prawn bonfire (my favourite way to eat prawns).
The food was excellent as usual. This restaurant used to be a very casual family restaurant with excellent and very cheap food. It has been completely renovated and no longer has that same charm and cosy ambience. Bay Tinh was usually packed out every night but last Sunday, 26 February 2017, it had very few diners. The prices of the dishes have gone up substantially.
We dined here last night with a group of girlfriends. Ordered entrees which were all good except for the salt and pepper calamari, which is labeled as the best in Sydney. Unfortunately this dish was very dissapointing, it lacked seasoning and was soggy and we had to wait a long time for it. Service was slow but friendly. I would come back but won't be ordering the calamari, just a big serve of the fried rice cakes... Yum!
Great authentic Vietnamese food in the urban inner city suburb of Marrickville. Caters to different dietary requirements; we had a vegan person and a gluten free person with us who were well looked after. Very attentive wait staff. Highly recommend it.
Excellent food and service. We had a table of 8 and ordered a great variety of dishes on a very busy night. The spring rolls in particular were delicious as were the flat noodles with pork. Will be back there tomorrow!
The staff were super attentive and the food was fresh and so tasty. Definitely coming back. There is a new chef and we were able to taste a beef soup that had been cooked for 24 hours, delicious.
