With a casual vibe amplified by its industrial-chic decor, exposed brickwork and the hand-painted mural that adorns the back wall, this hip burger joint in Wan Chai is the first point of call for many hungry Hong Kongers looking their comfort food fix. Serving up burgers that are both juicy and smoky at the same time, when you sink your teeth into one of these beefy offerings you’ll soon discover why this Wan Chai restaurant is so popular. Keep it classic with the simple but delicious cheese burger, or go all out with the chilli burger topped with jalapeno slices, caramelised onion, raclette cheese, butter lettuce, mayo and harissa yoghurt.
Loved throughout Hong Kong just as much for their extensive craft beer menu as they are for their juicy burgers, at Beef & Liberty you’ll find bottles from around the world. If you want something a bit sweeter though, go for one of the spiked shakes, a grown up take on the old milkshake. For a real indulgent treat we recommend The Midnight Wake Up, a combination of kahlua, chocolate liqueur, cookies and chocolate ice cream. Is your mouth watering? Book a table at Beef & Liberty’s Wan Chai location on Wing Fung Street to get a piece of the action!
Great environment and experience like always! The new drink list is exciting! Love it! Little peckers great and also the sweet potato chips!!! It's a Must try!!
The roof garden is great in this weather. Love their burgers and it is awesome to have 2 for 1 burgers! Huge fan! The roof garden is slightly more quiet than the diner room, but some people might be smoking.
Great food as always. A bit noisier than Stanley but it expected due to the area. Choose the stanley location for a nice and quiet date.
Always a big fan of the Beef and Liberty! So surprised by the special burger and Rocky is a great staff that highlighted our experience!
It's my third time visiting Beef and Liberty, and this is one of the best eating experiences i have had. Beef and Liberty is an absolutely A-grade restaurant regarding its food. The taste is beyond words, the classic burger and the signature cookie is as amazing as always. But this time, the thing that blows me away is the excellent service that it provides, which, in my view, is beyond the hotel level. This was my friend's birthday and we took a mini celebration there. Amid the huzz and buzz of lunch hour, the staff were as courteous and eager to help as before, in terms of taking order, explaining the unavailability of sweet potato fries due to issues with supply (this was a slight disappointment at first since the sweet potato fries is the best in town, but the amazing experience we had later just swiped away the slight drawback) etc. We arranged a little surprise for our friend and the staff were very sharp in getting our signal. The most impressive and heartwarming part is how the staff gave us an extra surprise and treat, which left us the most touched! It is not the treat, but the thoughtfulness and hospitality that mesmerizes most. Beef and Liberty, great job and thank you for an amazing 1-hour lunch. We will definitely be back (frequently)! :)
I had a meal with two other on Monday night. We took advantage of the Green Monday deal with on person ordering a veggie burger and then got the vegetable crudites for free. The other two of us ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the special lamb burger with liberty fries and sweet potato fries. We also got a serve of crispy olives and a couple of drinks. Everything was absolutely delicious. Both the regular potato and sweet potato fries were well-cooked and came with tasty dipping sauce. The vegetable crudites were served in a clever way and had good variety. The serve of crispy olives was small, but very tasty. The burgers, all three of them, were very good. The atmosphere of the Wan Chai restaurant is nice and the service was helpful and friendly without being overbearing. Would happily eat there again.
The restaurant is located in a small street on Hong Kong, not easy to find, but it is more than worth it to go there. The burgers are outstanding, the meat is incredible. We went for a black pepper burger which was quite spicy with medium-rare beef. Delicious. You should also try out the Oreo shot, a dessert with Oreo crumbles, vanilla ice cream and a chocolate foam on top. Service was very friendly and polite. A MUST in Hong Kong, it was the best burger we ever ate.
As Hong Kong sinks into a bottomless well of greed there are few service and quality based operations left. Beef & Liberty is one of the last beacons of food excellence to be left standing. Consistently produced quality food and flawless service it is like a welcome holiday in some other parallel Hong Kong Universe. I am grateful it is still with us and upholding a glorious standard of food and service. Just wish they would turn down the very hip but very canned music a bit...
We had a great experience - attentive service, food came in pretty quickly (we were there on Friday night at 6 pm, so the restaurant wasn't quite full yet). Really good burgers (grass fed beef is what i appreciated the most, and they were juice, not greasy). Another plus - an option to have them on the plate with a salad! As a health coach I applaud you for the forward thinking! We will definitely back again and spread the word around. Thank you!
Receptionist was friendly and welcomed us to the restaurant. Service from our server was a bit slow. We had to wait a long time to have our food ordered. The restaurant was a bit too noisy for us. Apart from that, quality of food was good. We ordered 2 burgers (bacon cheese and cheese). For drinks, we ordered one vanilla milkshake and a lemonade. And of course, the sweet potato fries is something not to be missed. We benefited from their Double Trouble promotion and had one of our burgers for free. Quite a good deal.
I went on valentines day with my valentine, and they had a buy one get one free offer. The experience was amazing, the burgers were nothing but tasty and the fries were out of this world. We also ordered a ginger vanilla milkshake and the mix and ginger and vanilla flavour shocked me because of it's strong distinct flavour. Overall I absolutely loved it, and the service was great as well.
I think the beef burger is pretty good, well cooked medium beef, the sweet potato fries is nice too. The most appreciated would be the service, as the waiter served us well, at last he has free the dessert for us because of happy Friday, we was happy with that. One mark is for the reservation list was without my name, so lucky they still offer me seats since I show my email confirmation. Hope the errors wont happen again for the other customers :)
Beef and Liberty is possibly the best place in Hong Kong for a good burger. the quality is very consistent, they update menu regularly, is a nice restaurant in a nice location. What makes them outstanding is the how they care to have good waiters and captains, mostly smiling, engaging, chatting, and they know usually what they sell to the customers. As we all know this is not common in Hong Kong and requires perseverance by the management. well done Bruno Feltracco
Just like last time, dinner was great - food, service, ambiance, all of it! I had a question about the ingredients and our waiter was quick to answer and even brought additional small amount to satisfy my curiosity. It is good to eat with a piece of mind that ingredients are organic, grass fed beef and pork (i had a special pork - it was delicious !)
Food was great especially the cookie dessert. Staff was very friendly and helpful and had answers to any questions about what was on the menu. A bit on the expensive side but you pay for what you get, had to wait a little bit for burgers to come out but I was there at prime dinner time so the restaurant was full and had a line waiting to get a table. Definitely will go back and definitely recommend to everybody
their burgers were pretty good 'the hulk' burger was really good (juicy, rich, succulent) the vegetarian, pulled pork, and original sliders were good as well (favorite was the pulled pork) the bacon burger was also tasty and unique the vanilla milkshake wasn't too sweet (perfect, but not wowing) the skillet cookie & cream was very very sweet (a bit too sweet for one person in one go) but gooey, fudgy, and perfect to share
Went there for lunch and had the cheese burger set. I picked salad instead of fries as the side dish. Nice burger with thick and juicy beef patty and was cooked medium as ordered. The salad was good and was a nice balance to the burger. Service was so so as the waiter seemed very mechanical. He was very proactive in pointing out that there was "no service charge" in the bill.
The one serving my table did not really serve us much. While we asked for the bill, he left the bill on the table and walked away for a while. My friend and I were chatting so we didnt put cash or card into the bill tray at once. He stood a distance away from our table and saw that we didnt put in cash or card immediately. He then came back and stood next to our table waiting without saying a word!! We feel like not welcomed so we paid and left at once. Despite all the unpleasant dining experience, Beef & Liberty provided us with good food and a nice place for a good drinks after work.
Their server are warm and friendly. The restaurant makes great burgers and worth to try their crafted beer as well. Besides the burger,I personally like the decor of the restaurant and also one of the dessert from the menu known as skillet cookies & cream.I certainly will go back to this restaurant and also recommend it to my friends.
Excellent service and the waitress could not have been better! She made very helpful suggestions and really enhanced the experience around the already exceptional food. One particular point was that we received a free appetizer of the peppers with garlic which was quite good and I will definitely will be coming back to buy next time around.
