Make happy those who are near, and those who are far will follow. So goes the motto of Been, a Chinese bar and restaurant along Chandos Street in Leamington Spa. Famous for its Golden and Deluxe set meals, laying on the super soups, special seafood, and duck delicacies, Been Restaurant operates out of a former public house and offers a modern setting in which to enjoy fine Chinese dining. If this intrigues, the question remains, have you been?
Leamington Spa has been blessed by Been Restaurant, which offers classic and contemporary Chinese dining in a space that is itself classic and contemporary. Proprietors Stanley and Kate have lovingly converted an old public house down Leamington Spa’s Chandos Street into a chic Chinese dining room, with stylish furniture carefully selected and imported from China to complement the modern Chinese cuisine on offer. It’s all detailed leather furniture and black glass, and the food is just as seductive. Been also caters to parties of up to 20 people looking for private dining.
Been Restaurant’s lunch menu, served from noon until 2:30pm, gets started with their popular dim sum. Specialties like the crispy aromatic duck, beef in black bean sauce, or king prawn omelette are all available at incredibly affordable prices. There’s the odd pan-Asian dish to be found here, too. Been’s dinner menu is even more interesting. The range of courses is magnificent, with starters like the Capital spare ribs worthy of an authentic Beijing restaurant. Middle courses and soups make way for a huge selection of vegetarian, beef, chicken, pork, and seafood dishes, not to mention the rice and noodles selection. The best bet is to go for the all-you-can-eat option. Leamington Spa’s Been Restaurant can be found along Chandos Street – have you been to Been yet?
Really great service and food - definitely recommend the all you can eat. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to come back and visit.
Really delicious food. Really nice interior. Very friendly staff. Food came quickly. I really enjoyed it as I don’t normally eat Chinese out but I really loved it. I’m not sure if the all you can eat is worth it because everything is so filling I couldn’t order that much!! But other than that it was really really good. Will be going back.
excellent food and service - good choice across the whole menu, vegetarians also catered for. The fixed price menu is incredible value for money - what more could you want?
