Situated in the heart of The Smoke, London’s Belgo Holborn branch is one of the coolest spots in the city. Specialising in all things Belgian, you’ll find a bevy of Belgian craft beers, specialty mussels, burgers and plenty more just waiting on the Kingsway. This Holborn branch is located on the edge of Covent Garden, only a short stroll from Holborn High tube station, and is housed inside a former Lloyd’s Bank, giving it a contemporary and open feel – with the basement being where the bank’s former safe was located. Talk about London cool. So, whether you’re in for drinks, mussels or both, reserve a table and treat yourself to Belgo Holborn.
As we said, Belgo Holborn is housed within a former Lloyd’s Bank and is home to a European beer hall-style restaurant, an outdoor terrace and spacious bar area with large glass windows overlooking Kingsway. In terms of food, well, seafood lovers are in for a treat, as Belgo’s specialty is, of course, Belgian-style mussels. Sourced ethically and sustainably from the Shetland Islands, you can take your pick from having them served on a platter or in a bowl or traditional Belgian pot. And washed down with a Belgian craft beer or two, or a freshly made cocktail, well, let’s just say these mussels certainly go down a treat.
If mussels aren’t really your thing, Belgo in London’s Covent Garden has got you covered. Alongside delectable rotisserie chicken, you’ll find main dishes including 35-day aged British steak served with frites, stoemp mash and salad with your choice of peppercorn, Bearnaise or gorgonzola sauce; garlic and herb sausage served with smoked bacon, stoemp mash and beer gravy, and the famous Belgian savoury waffles topped with either chilli tomato ragu and a poached egg or handmas sausage and pancetta balls. If that gets your taste buds tingling then arm yourself with a reservation and make your way to London’s Covent Garden Belgo branch.
Delicious food and very attentive service, we will be back.
Great selection of beers, but the food was also tasty! Great for a lads night out
Had not been to Belgo for years, but decided to return for a birthday celebration, and it was a very pleasant surprise. Everything—food, drinks, service—exceeded our expectations, and we definitely will be back. Only drawback was the overly loud music, which seemed unnecessary (at least in the restaurant). When did the servers stop wearing monks’ robes? That the last time we were there.
