Elegant, enjoyable and enviably authentic, Benvenuti brings hand-picked tastes of Italy to the thankful folk of Stockton Heath. It’s hard to think of another place in the northwest with such a firm grip on what makes great Italian wine bars and delicatessens so...great. It’s no easy task, with no silver bullet available, so Benvenuti founder Paul did it the hard way over 15 years trudging around Italy, perfecting his list of favourite Italian ingredients and products then setting about finding the right small artisan producers or co-operative farmers to supply his beautiful bar space back here in the UK. The results of this dedication hardly need explanation – they are exquisite. Kings San Daniele prosciutto, DOP taleggio or sharp pecorino cheeses, breads from Alta Mura and of course superb Italian wines are what await you just over the river from central Warrington on London Road, where Benvenuti beckons to lovers of the finer things in life.
Very nice, great service, maybe some more fish options, waiters very helpful and accomodating as I have food intoleranceces. Lovely environment, like being on holiday! Thank you
Has the potential to be a really good place, and we may have just had 1 bad experience in a sea of many good ones, but the service was really bad. I dont like saying things like this normally, but we were 2 people out of 4 in the place and we'd nearly finished eating before we got the 2 glasses of wine we'd ordrered (which was very warm!!). We were then told we couldnt have anymore wine as the corkscrew was broken, which for a wine bar is a bit of a massive fail (especially as theyre surrounded by other places and theres a sainsburys not a 5 min walk from there, so one of the staff couldve just gone and got one - i nearly did it for them). Then, after my girlfriend accidentally knocked some food on the floor, we were asked "do you still want this" by the waitress (*puts head in hands*) which we politley declined (the 3 second rule is for at home only). Incidentally that bit of food was a small slice of cheese, so it wouldve been nice if theyd have just cut a new bit off. That being said, the food we had was lovely, and they did recognise that the wine situation (both the fact we couldnt have anymore, and it took best part of 20-30 mins to get a glass) was poor so they did knock money off the bill, but im not sure we'll be back unfortunately.
