Few Indian restaurants in Portsmouth have quite the relaxing setting that Southsea’s Bombay Bay does. Right on the marina on Fort Cumberland Road, Bombay Bay offers food that will wow, alongside great service and views of the water. What more could one need from an Indian restaurant? The menu consists of traditional spice combinations and curries that are loved up and down the UK, as well as plenty of house signatures. Portsmouth’s Bombay Bay is perfect for whatever your occasion might be and it’s very popular indeed. Best to reserve a table in advance to avoid any disappointment.
My friends and I came to Bombay Bay on 2nd Feb and as usual, food excellent, service exemplary and lovely atmosphere. Have been several times now and love it; best Indian restaurant in Portsmouth/Southsea
The service and the food was excellent. Having booked online for a seat in the main area as a couple of tables in the annex are tight, they phoned me back to say that they did not have any for a party for two, however when I arrived they did offer one but we declined as we were given one of the non tight tables in the annex. Recommend this all the time to my friends. Sandy
Lovely meal as always, service a bit rushed, not enough time given between courses, this has happened a few times when we’ve been & spoils it a bit for me. Ate last bit of popadom & the starter came, they need to leave more time to give people. A more relaxed experience, then it would be perfect
Food was great and a good atmosphere, service was very good, would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant, price of the meals was not bad.........
Great service, nice staff, lovely food. Mind you the curries are a bit milder than normal, I think but very tasty. Thank you, we will come again. My granddaughter always has chicken tikka masala wherever she goes and said that yours was the best - it did look the best. Usually it looks like a few lumps in very orange liquid - yours was really good.
Our first visit in many years. Unfortunately it was not as nice as we remembered it. Everything, including the staff looked rather tired. Poppadums didn't taste fresh. Main course was good although the rice portions were very meagre. We all had the same desert - coconut - it was truly awful - extremely watery and we've no idea what the case may have been made of ! Altogether, very disappointed - we had really expected something better. Living on past glories I think - a shame because the location is very nice.
Service excellent and nice atmosphere personally very disappointed with the lack of chicken in the korma. Previous visits have been oustsnding this visit may change my mind on a future visit.
