About Britannia Spice

The tradition of Indian cooking in the UK is long and storied, and there are few things that can compete with the curry house as a Friday night dining destination. People swear by their neighbourhood lassi-and-lager providers, and for those living on the Wirral, Britannia Spice is the local favourite. The chefs down at their location on The Parade in the Parkgate area of Neston are sourced from somewhere more exotic than the Wirral – India and Bangladesh, of course – and their menu is suitably subcontinental. Tandoori specialities are there, naturally, in the form of tikka lamb and chicken, as well as sheek kebabs and shashliks, as are baltis, biryanis and all your favourite curries. Take a trip to Parkgate on The Wirral for a curry to remember – just make sure that you reserve your table in advance, as they can get quite crowded on occasion.

Food came remarkably quickly but tasted fantastic. The price is such good value compared to what you get. On top of that, the service was marvellous

I have been visiting Britannia Spice since it opened!! My family love it and we nearly always celebrate birthdays and valentines day here, The menu is brilliant and always freshly cooked with lots of choice. The set meals are super too, great value but hard to finish as you get so much. The staff are friendly and attentive. All in all an excellent restaurant and as the location is fantastic it is often good to have a walk afterwards.

We were warmly greeted on arrival and the level of service provided remained at an extraordinary high level throughout the whole of our meal. All our needs were catered for immediately and the food was delicious and served promptly. We had a great time and would definitely recommend the Britannia Spice to our friends and look forward to going again ourselves.

My partner and I are here on Bank Holiday Sunday in the middle of Ramadan whe, unbeknownst to us, the restaurant was operating on minimalist staff. We only booked our table on Quandoo an hour prior to arriving at the restaurant yet we were accommodated and shown to our table by our very friendly and energetic waiter more or less straight away. Despite it only being he and the manager working front of house that night our waiter couldn't have done more for us and I give him 100% for his enthusiastic customer service. And I will add that the food was excellent and served without delay. We will be visiting here again.

Have had many takeaways from this restaurant, but this was the first occasion we had eaten in. The food was obviously the same good quality, but what we weren't impressed about, was the staff. Our meal was booked for 5pm. We arrived at 3 minutes to the hour, walked in and the waiter looked at me as though we had turned up an hour early! He even commented on the fact that we were early (all 3 minutes of it). We felt as though we were inconveniencing him. The other staff weren't much better; no pleasantries with the customers (well certainly not at our table anyway), no smiles and to cap it all, as we left and said thank you, we were met with a stony silence. Well I may return for a takeaway, but eat in? Never again!

The staff and service were excellent and the food was delishes but we were seated down stairs and every time someone came in through the front door there was a blast of cold air, it was a cold windy night but the entrance is too small for people to come in and close the door behind them to prevent this happening. It did put a dampener on what was would have been a very good experience.
