If I could give zero stars, I would. Booked restaurant online, walked 45 mins for it to be shut. Owners seemed to be inside but couldn’t care that people were waiting outside.

We didn’t stay we walked out. The restaurant stunk of stale smoke and no body bothered to show us To a table so we left

Dreadful, various items not available off the menu, with a similar excuse used before regarding deliveries, unable to pay by card but not told this until we'd sat down and had our first drink, absolutely empty which should have sent alarm bells ringing when we arrived, none vegan food passed off as vegan food, below mediocre food.

The restaurant had only continental type larger, which I don't drink and the only other people in the place were the owner's family with a screaming child. We left.

Modern restaurant, very clean and well maintained. The food was tasty and well presented as good sized portions. It was a quiet night (mid-week) so only the two of us dining and only one member of staff serving. She was very attentive and pleasant.

Main meals of rib eye steak and salmon very good BUT service extremely amateurish. No knowledge of cocktails, no dry rose wine and no Pinot Grigio ( although they did go to local off licence to buy extra wine!) Also not impressed with waitress wearing untidy long cardigan while serving

We found the food tasty and substantial, the service friendly and efficient, the ambience agreeable, and the value for money good. One member of our party especially relished the unlimited fries!

We had a fantastic time at butlers, this was the best burger I have ever had. We will definitely be recommending them and be going back there ourselves

Food was good, though one of our party had the rump steak which she found chewy. Chicken and sirloin good and we liked the taste and presentation of the chips. Not a great deal of choice. Service slow, but waitress very pleasant.

Top quality food at reasonable prices, have been there many times and have never been disappointed. Definitely worth a visit as Eastbourne is not overrun with good eateries

This was our first visit and we very much enjoyed the Valentine's night menu. The king prawn starter's, the duck breasts and both deserts were extremely enjoyable. Service and atmosphere were very good. We have recommended the restaurant to friends.

Lovely restaurant newly refurbished. Disappointed was advertised as jass band on Fridays. They no longer do this. Food was lovely. Atmosphere good. Until the owner started moving tables about to fit more people in. Then became very uncomfortable with customers owner and staff squeezing by to get to other tables.

We had the Sunday roast lunch, which was very ample and tasty, with an exceedingly generous supply of well-cooked vegetables and appropriate and freshly prepared sauces (horseradish for the beef, apple for the pork). We enjoyed our glasses of wine and the whole meal, including the drinks, was good value for money. The service was friendly and efficient. There was a pleasant ambience with agreeable decor. We will return ourselves and we have already recommended it to our neighbour.

Food excellent service great nice ambiance. The only down side was it advertised jazz on a Friday evening but there was none. Also not sure why but only about a dozen patrons?

Overall the food was not bad. There were a couple of things that spoilt the evening though. 2 people ordered rump steak on our table, on was a good size steak, the other was very small. We mentioned this to the waitress who tried to then get a manager, the person who came did not seem like a manager and gave us some excuse that the chef cuts his own steaks from a large joint and so can vary. The correct thing to say would have been, let me replace that for you, it is obviously very different in size. A little later in the evening the owner did visit our table and once told about the issue, did offer us a free bottle of wine. A few of us also had the Lamp Rump, which came with a very tasty caper sauce, it was meant to be served with a aubergine and tomato gateau, but instead came with a mash potato and extra courgettes, but nothing was mentioned. So a few service/kitchen issues to sort out and the restaurant could be improved. I think a little more attention to detail in cleaning some areas would not go a miss as well.
