The pork belly and halloumi were very tasty, as were most of the tapas. The ice-cream was more like ice-lolly consistency. The man was rather abrupt, whereas the female staff were more considerate and friendly

Had a wonderful night to celebrate our sons birthday, food and service was amazing .

First time back for awhile. Food was as fantastic as ever. Service was good on the whole... only drawback was the surly, scowling manager (owner?). If you can ignore him, the rest is wonderful.

The atmosphere was great and we really enjoyed the food.

Good food, waiter wasn't as smiley as I would like.

Sadly after 50 minutes we had had our wine and at 50mins the flat bread starter turned up. We hadn’t ordered any other dishes at this point so we left rather than chance a further wait. We were sat upstairs which was pretty chilly. A couple who walked in at the same time as us were just finishing there meal as we left so make your mind up, kitchen or waiters.. we’ve eaten here before and the food is really good.. but you have to have it to taste it’s quality...

Food diverse and full of flavour. A real independent gem

As good as ever. Byzantium is consistently good with the quality of the food very high and with a wide range of choice. Service was excellent and there were far more people there than I would have expected for late on a Monday evening. We will be back.

Customer service needs some serious looking at, no one was rude in particular but there is no greeting or pleasantries at check in and staff seem overwhelmed and flustered. Food was ok although it came out at staggard times which is a shame with tapas. Lamb skewers and croquetas were lovely, everything else was just fine-if a little expensive for what you get! Had to try hard to get staffs attention for drinks. Overall, ok!

Nice but small restaurant. Waitress didn’t understand what squash was or J2O. So had to drink something that I didn’t really want. Food is average. Good portion sizes.

Delicious food cooked fresh, with a great vegetarian menu. We return because the food is always good, and the warm Moroccan Orange Cake was soo good will definitely order it again. A lovely relaxed meal.

It's the second time I've been to Byzantium and the food has been fantastic both times. My only criticism is of their advertisement of deals... on their Facebook page they had stated that if you quote "earlybird" when ordering your food you get a free flatbread. However, when I did this the waitress told me that it had to be said within a certain time and we'd missed it but it didn't state this on the Facebook page which was a bit unfair.

It was lovely food and good atmosphere, waiters were slightly confused of table numbering’s so orders kept going to different tables, and the menu was the same as last year. However, food was incredible and always love going to a tapas bar!

Our first time there. Nice friendly staff, willing to accommodate your needs. Asked to sit on a bigger table, not a problem. Very nice food, my wife is a fussy eater but she loved it, raved about it for days. Nice vibes, easy to book, nice decor, can't really complain, except it is a very small restaurant, would have liked all the tables to be the bigger ones as the small ones are very small. Overall nice experience.
