More about the restaurant: Café Coco

Café Coco is a one-of-its-kind place in a one-of-ist-kind town: Take a five-minute stroll out of the city centre and over Magdalen Bridge to Café Coco, which serves great food – pizzas in particular – in spectacularly opulent surroundings. All the sculptures are weird but interesting, but make sure you don’t miss the naked-man-in-the-bath which doubles as an ice cream machine. Good to combine with a trip to the Kazbar and perhaps catch an art-house flick at the Ultimate Picture Palace in Cowley – and to just feel the cool, unpretentious vibe of the Cowley Road.

Thinking about making a Café Coco booking?

Up for some truly boho café culture? Oxford’s Café Coco is owned by the same folk as the nearby Kazbar, a lively, quirky bar with real character. Its elegant, idiosyncratic interior abounds with wooden bench seating and bizarre art (we’re not quite sure what to make of the bare torso behind the bar). Its funky atmosphere is one of its chief selling points – Coco’s is a hip little place that attracts a mix of students and young professionals. Offering a great range of cocktails, with their refreshing vodka and elderflower concoction and the amaretto and strawberry-based Coco Cooler standing out on an otherwise by-the-numbers drinks list.

Their pizzas are popular with good reason. The service? Always friendly, and the place fizzes on weekends. Café Coco on Cowley Road features a regular line up of musical acts. And do start your day with a breakfast at Coco – healthy and light, tasty and invigorating. True fact. We can’t say enough good things about Coco. Do yourself a favour and see for yourself.
