About Cafe India
Glasgow has a burgeoning restaurant reputation, and the Indian restaurants that are found in the city are always close to the top of any list of culinary strong points. The Glaswegian public loves a curry as much as any, and the options before them are extensive to say the least. In the city centre, and specifically in the Merchant City, Cafe India on Albion Street is always a popular choice, so if you’re in town and feel like a curry, then book a table and make your way over.

Ask the average Glaswegian for a ranking of their favourite places to eat out and the likelihood is that they’ll mention an Indian restaurant pretty quickly in the conversation. In the city centre it is difficult to see much further than Cafe India in the Merchant City, a curry house with a dedication to fresh ingredients, welcoming customer service and a top-quality menu that entices the customers to Albion Street for a meal.
They’re easily reached – close to Argyle Street, High Street and St Enoch’s stations on Albion Street – and when you arrive, you can try some of their Indian specialities. Try some of the time-honoured classics – pakoras, tandoori dishes and the Glasgow favourite chicken chasni – as well as other, more obscure Indian specials such as Malabari prawn and Lahori lamb chops. Reserve your table now for one of the best curries in Glasgow city centre.
Service was excellent and the food was beautiful and great value for money, fab way to spend Christmas Eve!!! Will definitely be back soon, thanks again!!
Excellent food and great service. Very busy with it being pay weekend but served very quickly. Our favourite Indian restruant in Glasgow. Prices very reasonable too.
This was a most enjoyable lunch, nothing was to much bother for the friendly and attentive staff. Excellent menu with very tasty food and some unusual dishes. I would highly recommend a visit.
Brilliant food and service. Well worth a visit. Try the tandoori lamb chops served on a sizzler or the amazing tandoori king prawns also served on a sizzler.
Went here for our Anniversary, had the mixed pakora for 2 it was lovely, couldnt fault it, i had the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken for main loved it too and hubby had Chicken Tikka Masala he said it was lovely too would highly recommend Cafe India to anyone.
The only negative comment is that it took around 20 mins before anyone took our order and then another five minutes before our drink order was taken. Then they brought our starters before we had our poppadoms. The food was excellent, was very fresh and very tasty. I would highly recommend to friends & family.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Reasonable prices for quality food. Previously had lunch here and returned for a birthday dinner. We will definitely be going back.
Great location in the Merchant City for this popular restaurant. Plenty of choice on the menu, good food, excellent service overall top class. Well worth a visit.
Good meal and service. Three of the party ordered lamb and all were impressed with its quality; no fat or gristle. Looking forward to going back.
Food was good and service was quick. The restaurant was very quiet although it was a Monday night. The portions were small. I would go back on a different night. Lacked atmosphere.
The person that met us didn't know we had a reservation but the food was excellent! I would definitely recommend the restaurant to my friends.
Food great lots of choice , portion sizes just right Service good Just restaurant needs a little upgrading (new tables and chairs some better lighting)
Good food in pleasant atmosphere, although party room makes rest of place a bit noisy. Lamb rogan josh excellent with very tender meat. Fair prices for Merchant City
Delish food but could have done with more! Good service and reasonable value for money. I didn't like the waiter counting out our money at the table however!
The food was decent but not a patch on what it used to be when located near the Mitchell Library. And Kareoki on a Saturday night???.
Very good food but far too noisy with parties going on in adjacent rooms. We could not hear ourselves talk. Very good attentive waiting service.
Food excellent. Decor not so good. Get some tablecloths and think about lighting. I would also consider the laminated menus they look cheap. Thank you
