More about Cafe Ishaq, London

The food at Southwark’s Ishaq Restaurant and Cafe is the kind of classic comfort food you’d expect from a London local. There’s tandoori chicken, onion bhaji, pakora, and seekh kebabs and that’s just the starters. Indian food (in Britain at least) always comes in big portions, and there’s no escaping that here on Kennington Road either. Once you’ve polished off your starters there’s balti and biryani dishes aplenty as well as house specials (we say go for the chicken dhansak, but then we really love lentils).

In a quiet spot on Kennington Road in Southwark, Ishaq Restaurant and Cafe has breathed new life into the classic Indian takeaway. The food here is everything you want from a takeaway: big portions, big flavours and big ideas. If you are in need of a feast to take home with you, the set menus are a popular option for those that like the Indian takeaway to come with breads, rice and the rest (and probably enough for lunch tomorrow). Diners are choosing Cafe Ishaq for its great, affordable food south of the river and beyond.

The food was Delicious and the service was great. The venue is simple and unpretentious. I like the different booths. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
