Oxted’s Cattle & Cocktail is known for their lunch menus which are available in one-course, two-course and three-course sizes. Recommended starters here include the mini beef sliders, jumbo prawns and pan seared scallops, and from the mains, we suggest ordering the salmon fillet with carrot mash potato, green beans and coconut hoisin sauce, the fresh caught lobster, sirloin steak or duck breast with spinach, beetroot mash potato and sauce. For vegetarians, the goats cheese salad is a tasty option, and you can’t forget about dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth before departing from this Oxted hotspot.
Fantastic restaurant with fantastic staff. The food and cocktails are 10/10 and the ambiance is spot on. A big thank you for a great evening.
Very welcoming and Friendly, great food. Staff really put themselves out to make sure you have a lovely evening. will be going again. thank you all
Very welcoming friendly staff good food and service will definitely go again
Everytime i come here. It’s fantastic great cocktail and the steak out of this word. The staff are great and always smiling with a professional attitude.
Lovely decor, and nice staff. Food was delicious. Amazing cocktails. Only constructive criticism I could give would be that the service between courses was too quick, we saw most people being delivered their main courses a couple of minutes after finishing their starter which never gives a good impression. It's not meant to be fast food so it shouldn't be served as such. Drink service was great at 7pm but got slower as the evening went on which isn't great for the customer to be thirsty and is also lost revenue for your business. I think a warmer welcome could be given when guests arrive as well as this was again a little bit rushed. We had a really lovely evening but it was definitely too rushed. Our taxi driver also commented that lots of people have commented to him that service was too slow but our experience was the opposite. We will definitely return though as the food was delicious and the staff were lovely.
Six of us went along to our first taste of Cattle and Cocktail on Friday night - none of us like the name of the restaurant but we wanted to try it out as it's brand spanking new! Lovely ambiance, excellent décor, very helpful staff but didn't like the pulsating loud music. Obviously you are looking for a young clientele and I'm sure it will be a success on that basis as we can't have too many restaurants in Oxted. The rib eye steaks were delicious (3 of our party had this) and the half lobster (2 had this) were beautifully cooked and presented. The sirloin was chewy and rather disappointing. Most of us had a cocktail and they were all OK. We will probably try the lunch as it should be much quieter then, much too noisy on Friday as we love to chat during our dinner, not shout!
It was our second visit. The food was delicious and this time the side dishes arrived on time. The waitresses were lovely, less stressed out than the previous time, they really made us feel well looked after. A couple of things are still in the "area for improvement" department: 1) The restaurant was cold when we got in, the seats (leather like) take a long time to get warm so it might be a good idea to warm the place a little before opening ? 2) The toilet was immaculate but the lid of the toilet kept closing on me, perhaps it was badly installed or adjusted and again, the toilet was very cold, no heating at all. Apart from that, a much more enjoyable visit than the first one for sure. Well done!
Our first visit to Cattle & Cocktail. Firstly - the name is ugly! Our lobster linguine was sadly lacking. For example, described as "with cherry tomatoes", my portion contained just one, albeit in 2 halves! The lobster was sparse & chewy. Our neighbouring table was served the wrong steaks. When the correct order was delivered, they were incorrectly cooked and the fries were forgotten - & not asked for - until their meal was virtually over. The 'service' was willing enough, just not up to much. There were very few tables occupied but then it was midweek but we found it lacking in atmosphere. Pity!
Had a lovely time at Cattle & Cocktail last night. My first time at the restaurant. The food was delicious and so was the cocktails. Had the fillet steak with prawns! Amazing!!!! Staff was lovely!!! Even brought us over a little special shot for valentines. Will defo be going back.
We hadn't heard good reports on Cattle and Cocktail but wanted somewhere different to go as we knew all the other eating places in Oxted well. Reserving a table on line couldn't have been easier and we are pleased to say that we had a most enjoyable time. Front of house staff were friendly, polite and helpful, the wine was good value and the food delicious. Only one hiccup on the steaks which was quickly resolved and they too were tastey and cooked as required. Good choice of food for non meat eaters but then if you are a true vegie, why go to eat at a venue entitled "Cattle". Would we go again - definitely.
