Great food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It’s like being in France in this family run restaurant. Very easonable prices too. It’s worth making the effort to visit.
Wonderful food and great value on the three course set lunch. The setting is very relaxed and pretty and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Food excellent and at a reasonable cost. Bit of a problem with the wine order in that the wine we ordered was not the wine that was delivered to the table but this was resolved to our satisfaction.
Food is always excellent, full of rich French flavours, served in an atmosphere that never fails to make us feel like we are in a small french hamlet.
Nice, cosy and friendly, the food is perfectly cooked and the owner a pleasure to talk with. A very great evening, will definitely come back.
Good to go again after such a long time - and great to experience the same great standard of service and food - Merci Eric
Excellent dinner and super hosts in Eric and Claudine. Authentic, relaxed French atmosphere as well as great food, something we particularly enjoy as regular visitors to France. The "Thursday Treat" on the last Thursday of each month provides excellent value, and it was suitably busy. We have also enjoyed previous visits and in our experience standards are consistently high. They are now open for Sunday lunch, so we will be back very soon!
Another great meal at Chez Ton Ton food was perfect the Restuarent was busy but service was perfect. Eric and staff look after us very well
A lovely Sunday lunch my partners first visit but we shall certainly make the "deviation encore une fois" The food and ambience were typlcally French, especially the badmage with the front of house lady.
We went for Sunday lunch. Great choice of food on the set menu. Service, food, and ambiance all excellent made even better by the lovely weather. Highly recommended.
Very pleasant evening. Good service. Main course of cod loin and dessert of crepes were very good but starter of mussels was disappointing. They need to rehas their mussels
Had a very nice anniversary meal with friends. The ambience is very welcoming, and the staff knowledgable and friendly. Had a courgette and cumin soup starter, followed by breast of delicious duck. Too full for dessert! Will return.
The atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff were attentive. The house wine was excellent and the food of a high standard. We will go back again.
Lovely relaxed restaurant with great food and service. The food is very reasonably priced and with decent wine choices too. Highly recommend a visit with friends or partner. Local gem!
A very nice genuine French Restaurant, tucked away in Barnet. With food excellent. The sort of place one likes to find , as it is not on a main thoroughfare.
Always love going back to Eric - consistently good food, service and friendliness over the years. He and his staff made us extremely welcome, food was great and we were very relaxed. We will be back!
Unfriendly and poor quality food. Stale croutons . Starters were tasteless. Mains were ok . Veg was over cooked. Very disappointed with overall experience. Restaurant was cold
Pleasant atmosphere, friendly waiters and owner, and most importantly, amazing food, the salmon tartare on the specials section was a particular highlight as was the duck breast.
Exactly what you would expect from a French Bistro. Authentic experience right in North London. Adding some extra words to meet the minimum criteria for reviews
Have been going for years, and we always enjoy our time. Great wine, great food, wonderful host. Plenty of choice on the menu, and always some daily specials on offer too. The dauphinois potatoes that come with the mains are divine. This is by far the best restaurant in the area.
Very quaint lovely French restaurant where the owners are French and you feel like you're in France. Good menu with specials food well presented and the flavours exquisite, staff very friendly but not to much in your face all the time, we had a lovely evening but unfortunalty no room for desert, will be back
As always, really friendly French service, wonderful food, great and authentic atmosphere. Great choice on the menu (so difficult to decide what to have). We love Chez Tonton
Loves this french restaurant and have been coming here for years !! You feel you are in the heart of Paris eating amazing french food highly recommended!
Great service. A menu that invites you to return. Food was served in a timely manner and was enjoyed by all. Will be returning soon.
Have been going to this restaurant for years and the food and service is first class. Eric the owner is always charming and nothing is too much trouble. At lunchtime they have a set two course meal with a good selection of dishes as well as the a la cartel menu. We drive from Hertfordshire to eat here and are never disappointed. Please give it a try.
Delicious and authentic French food. The service was welcoming and the setting is romantic. Perfect for Valentine’s Day! Recommend the onion soup ... the best I’ve had!
Authentic French atmosphere, owner and waiters all French, pleasant and attentive service, very good food! My partner mentioned that his veal wasn’t very good - he left half of it - and without a murmur the owner took his main course off the bill. The rest of the party’s main courses were excellent, so this was probably a one-off and would stop us from going there again.
One of the best meals I have ever had! Authentic, quality food and wine! Three coarse meal for two for £50 (with Taste-Card). Really nice staff too! Bon appetit!
A lovely local family-owned restaurant. The food is delicious and the ambiance exceptional. It is our go-to for a grown-up meal out and we will be back again soon.
Loved it! I would definitely go back. Good food, good service and the whole atmosphere was lovely and cosy. There were seven of us and everyone of us finished every single course, it was delicious!
Authentic atmosphere and excellent food , prices a little high. We have been going to Chez Tonton for many years and will continue to do do.
Went with friends - first time i had been there. Excellent service, food, ambiance and staff. Cannot wait to go back. Thank you and see you soon hopefully.
Was very pleased with the excellent meal and great service, always happy when I go to Chez Tonton. On top of having great food the environment is very authentic improving the overall experience.
Fabulous restaurant with great ambiance. You are transported to France with the music, food and waiters speaking French. Very much recommended. Delicious Kir Royale to start and everything we are was sublime .
Great food and great service. Authentic, tasty French food in a no-fuss and very friendly environment. All 3 courses were delicious, and portions were a good size.
M y wife and I were extremely pleased to revisit Chez Tonton after at least 10 years, the owner even reparked our car in order to save a parking fine. The food was superb and the service could not have been better, don't hesitate to ask for anything as they will go out of their way to help you. Try the house wine you will be pleasantly suprised and as for their "onion soup" the same as we have in Paris. Bill cook and wife.
A very enjoyable experience at this delightful restaurant with a delicious meal for four. The owner Eric was attentive and entertaining throughout and we shall definitely return.
Excellent food, value and service. Two of the diners had a food allergy and they accommodated us well. Nice atmosphere and nicely decorated for Xmas.
This was our first lunchtime venture to Chez Tonton, having dined there several times before and always had an excellent meal. Four of us all enjoyed a really good value 3 course lunch at £12, plus very reasonably priced bottle of Malbec at £20. Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff.
Food was amazing... staff polite & restaurant was very romantic ... we had the cheese fondue as a starter and was enough to share. Our main was delicious & pudding perfect. Price was very reasonable
