Chilli Cake

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Hubby won't normally go out for Sunday lunch as he doesn't like the usual frozen veg and 'pile it high, sell it cheap' approach many places seem to take. Not here. Fresh, tasty, decent portions and one of the nicest cauliflower cheese sauces I've ever tasted. We'll be back! ☺

good choice of food selection. great for vegans and vegetarians. and great value for money too, staff attentive. and didnt wait that long to be served.

This restaurant had a good atmosphere, the food was excellent, however we feel the service let the overall experience down. This was our first visit and I would definitely give it another try.

The restaurant wasn’t open for food so we didn’t get chance to try it. The lady was lovely and offered us drinks next time but still very disappointing.

We visit Chilli Cake regularly although relatively infrequently. The food is invariably good and we'll presented. There are some quirky options and the Menu caters well for Vegans and Vegetarians. It is competitively priced although not cheap. There's an interesting range of drinks and cakes. Today we were with friends and had a Trawler man and Truffle man sandwich as well as a salad and Thai Curry and Pasta dishes. We had 3 desserts and 5 coffees. With starting drinks the Bill was just over £70. It was relatively quiet today. Parking is a little less easy with the recent landscaping. They have regular activities including live music. We'll worth a try.

Really good night with good food and service. We attended the gin and swing evening which was excellent value for money. We will certainly be going again.

Vegan Sunday lunch is amazing, well worth a visit. Lovely setting and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing seems too much trouble. Recommend 100%

Just a little out rhe way of major competing restaurants but its worth the extra 2 min walk, friendly staff and excellent food definaltly will be returning

We had an excellent meal. The girls were really friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. The meal was superb and really well presented, mains, sweet and drinks - none of our party could fault anything - wonderful. Will definitely go back again.

I have dined at Chilli Cake a number of times in the past and have always enjoyed the evening. Whether it be solely a meal or entertainment combined it's a quality establishment that truly stands out from the rest, something unique, certainly in Hartlepool if not the region. Well done to you all, owners, chefs and waiting staff.

Beautiful food. Great staff. A little gem of a place! I've tried several dishes on the menu both at lunchtime and for dinner and all have been superb. Chilli cake has a lovely quirky feel with an eclectic menu. It's great.

We have had everything from coffee & cake to a quiz night with parmo & cocktails this was our first Sunday lunch & as with everything else we’ve tried was beautiful great service & the food was delicious no room for a pudding though :)

Food was of outstanding quality. Service was quick and staff were prepared to go the extra mile if required. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent Sunday Lunch as always. Black pudding starter sublime. Top roast beef dinner and great chicken on sweet potato. Staff always courteous and helpful. Can not recommend enough.

Arrived on a Monday lunchtime four of us,one disabled. Staff made sure we were settled in comfortably. Two were vegans and were very happy with what was on offer, two were not and were even allowed something off the evening menu. All priced about right with even a locally brewed German style wheat beer on draught. Toilets could have done with a quick clean though!

It was our first time at Chilli Cake and we enjoyed an excellant meal despite one of us bring a fussy eater. The staff were very friendly and it eas a nice setting. Would recommend the luscious lemon cake with cream dessert. Would go again.

Lovely food, four different meals chosen, all very goid. Excellent friendly service. We will definitely be going back, and all ready have 2 future trips planned

The dining experience at chilli cake was wonderful it’s the second time I have been and was not disappointed. Beautiful presented food taste amazing. Service was excellent too, very happy.

The menu was interesting not the normal run of the mill. Thoroughly enjoyed. Service was good. Although entertainment was not on at the time it's a welcome change for a restaurant to have will bring in the customers

Amazing place, it was my first visit but the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, looking forward to going back sometime soon hopefully. They had fab entertainment on too. Top place to eat!

Probably one best eateries in Co. Durham and definitely the best in Hartlepool. Consistently excellent food, I have never been disappointed. The Sunday lunches are a dream. Highly recommended.

Very polite and attentive staff, good selection for vegans. Not overlt priced, kids enjoyed there fresh fish fingers and milkshakes. Even orderded a chocolate vegan cake for christmas.

The shutters were down when we arrived, we were very quickly shown in and staff were very welcoming I booked on line as this appears to be the norm, I wasn’t told only vegan/vegetarian was available that night.

We visited Chilli Cake on a Friday evening. Great food and staff were brilliant. The venue was very quiet though, it needs more people to visit and keep this local business going. Highly recommend Chilli Cake Hartlepool!

We had been in previously for coffee & cake (the best cherry bakewell slice ever) & loved the style & atmosphere, we were a table of 4 all had something different all had empty plates all would return. Staff & owner very friendly & food delicious

Staff are friendly. Food always arrives timely and is piping hot. Tastes great every time. Prices are reasonable. We tend to go for lunch but tried dinner this time and was not disappointed.
