Chutney’s Restaurant is a stronghold for Indian cuisine in southwest London’s Wimbledon. This Hartfield Road restaurant has been going strong and spicy for over twenty years. Needless to say, it’s a favourite among locals and a place where experience is evident in the quality of the dishes on offer. Specialties like the shahi jinga, galinha xacutti, and chicken rajeshwari are default orders among those who’ve been frequenting this Indian restaurant over the years – if you’re new to Chutney’s, these dishes come mightily recommended.
Whether you are a die-hard fan of Indian cuisine, taking your first step into the fiery pleasure of authentic curry, or have specific dietary requirements, Chutney’s can take care of you. Diners are encouraged to customise the menu, requesting the chefs to lay on the heat, hold off a little, or try something new. With gluten-free and vegan-friendly options, Chutney’s Hartfield Road premises is truly universal in its appeal. It’s also perfect for family dining or romantic dinner dates. Chutney’s regular live music nights are popular among Wimbledon residents, and local business people can enjoy the complimentary WiFi when they wine and dine with colleagues and clients. You can even take your curry al fresco, weather permitting.
I like this restaurant very much and have been using it for years. The food is always good and I look forward to my next visit. Helpful staff & good service.
Brilliant food, recommend the Deshi Gosht or Lamb Rajeshwari, kids always have Chicken Korma. Fantastic, friendly service. We try eat here whenever we are in Wimbledon.
Went here for a family meal on a quiet Monday night. Menu is extensive and contains usual British/Indian favourites but also plenty of more interesting dishes. Everything we ordered was great-good quality ingredients well cooked. Staff very pleasant. Nice meal out.
Fab food, fab experience. Staff were friendly and attentive but not over bearing. The decor is modern and stylish. The restaurant is ideally located in the heart of Wimbledon.
Large and varied menu of delicious dishes at reasonable prices, with good wine selection (under £5 for a large glass of Pino Grigo Rose). Modern decor, clean tables, interesting and different ambient Indian music playing subtly in the background. Very friendly, helpful and attentive staff who aren't too intrusive. Very conveniently centrally located close to Bus stops, railway and underground Station, tram link and a multi-story carpark. The Odeon cinema is a hundred yards away. However the restaurant is tucked away behind the Broadway so doesn't suffer from the annoying distractions from heavy traffic or a constant stream of passers by. Highly recommended!
I moved out of the area six years ago, but when in Wimbledon, if I get a chance, I go to Chutneys, as the food and service is always fab. The Prawn Puri starter is a big favourite with my family and the mains are fresh and tasty. Well worth a visit.
The service and food was very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant was just right for our evening. My friends and I always go there as we know it's going to be good and it's not too loud so can hear everyone in the group without needing to shout.
As usual, very convenient location, lovely decor and very friendly staff. My friends and I have been there several times over the last couple of years and were immediately recognised and made to feel welcome. The waiter was a little slow in taking our order, but once that had been done the food arrived promptly and was very good. I will be going back next month with a larger group of people.
As usual the food and ambience was great, but the service was very slow. We had real difficulty in even ordering a drink; I had to ask 3 times to get water for the table. Our waiter seemed in no hurry at all to take our food order. I will certainly go back there, but will hope for better service next time!
Lovely staff so polite and did not rush you Food big portions and good thing is they are happy to bag up for you to take away Food tasty - masala sauce lovely and rich and good dipping for your naan
Excellent food with an abundance of choice and attentive service. I would recommend checking out the online menu as there is so much to choose from. Best to book a table as by 8.30pm people had to queue.
Despite us arriving late after theatre we had good service and the delicious food was promptly served. I have never had a "bad" meal at this restaurant and it is excellent value. I shall be returning !
Great location easy to find. Great staff very friendly and welcoming. Excellent choice of food and good value for money. Also no rush to force you out felt they would let us sit there all night
The food was really good, the ambience was buzzy and the service was surprisingly efficient for a busy Friday night. Our table of 6 had a great evening ... but it was very hot in the restaurant but cooled down once people left.
We had the Chicken Danshak and the Chicken Tikka Massala. Both were fabulous along with the Peshwari naan. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Well priced too. All in all a good night out.
Lovely atmosphere, great tasty food, we ordered the vegetable thali and asked for one dish to be replaced by an alternative due to allergy, easily done. Eating experience was not rushed. Would recommend.
Food is wonderful. Service is good except for a couple of younger waiters who did not seem to understand English. The coffee could be better but it would not stop me visiting again as the food is so good.
The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We were a table of 14 and everyone was satisfied with their overall experience. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was amazingly delicious too!
Service was very good which was good bearing in mind how busy the restaurant was. Also the food was lovely. My friends and I always come here for our regular catch up.
I visit Chutneys 2-3 times a year. The Food is excellent and the staff are very helpful. This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants. I look forward to my next visit.
