Clavells provides lovely food in pleasant quiet surroundings in a beautiful part of the countryside and is complemented by helpful and cheery staff. A recommended lunchtime venue.

Clavells has to be good as it is down a quiet country road that ends at Kimmeridge bay. Its country cottage setting is attractive and informal, whether you are eating inside or out under the umbrellas and there's plenty of parking. Fresh local fish features strongly on the menu and their accompanying sauces are very well balanced by the chef. It's pleasing to see fruit based dishes on the desert menu. The wine list covers most needs, whether by the bottle or the glass and there's local ciders and beers (Palmers) in addition. On a busy evening, service was a little inconsistent but that didn't spoil our meal. A restaurant definitely worth seeking out.

Great restaurant, great food, fab location but terrible toilet facilities. Loos are outside in a separate block - I can only comment on the ladies but only one cubicle, broken loo, nothing to dry your hands on etc Come on Clavells, why let yourselves down with something so basic ? This place has everything going for it and was very busy on the day we visited so is clearly popular but the poor quality facilities really let it down.

Attentive service, excellent food, cooked to our individual taste. Flexible in the provision of food off the menu. We very much enjoyed our evening. Thank you.

I enjoy dining at Clavell's every time! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is excellent, both in variety and quality. Hope to be back again soon!

Nice setting. Attentive staff. Some good food. Would give the starter (scallops and white fish with cauliflower puree and lemon butter with capers 8/10, and the Cheesecake dessert also 8/10, main course - Duck - enjoyable though the sauce needed a little more refinement 7/10)

Lovely food very helpful staff, we took my 97 year young father in law who is a bit confused and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more considerate.

Fantastic location, friendly staff and an interesting menu - we always come here when we visit Dorset. We both had salads which were colourful and fresh. The goats cheese, beetroot and candied walnut is my absolute favourite!!

Excellent place to eat if you are visiting Kimmeridge and/or The Etches Collection, the museum of marine life opposite. Comprehensive menu, ample portions, good value and we were attended to by pleasant, attractive and helpful staff. We will return.

Not good at all. Booked a table and when we arrived were told that literally half the mains on the menu were not available. The food we did get was bland and I suspect microwaved. Avoid.

It was a full restaurant but that did not detract the high quality of the service and the food. it was a very pleasant lunch time

Excellent local produce prepared to perfection. The owner and staff could not be more accommodating. Perhaps the best value for money in Dorset. Well worth a visit.
