I must admit that when my wife and I first entered this restaurant I was a bit dubious due to its small size, but as they say don't judge a book by its cover and size doesn't always matter. The service was top notch and the food was to die for, my wife had the butter chicken for her main course and declared it excellent, I had the lamb cutlets which were cooked to perfection and must be the tastiest lamb I have had in a long, long time. I have no reservations in recommending this little gem to anyone.

Great food and lovely atmosphere. Small number of tables, but individual attention and food cooked to order. When we come to York next year we know where we will be dining.

Our colleagues were running slightly late the staff were understanding & at the end of our meal advised us we could stay a little longer if we wished. The food was excellent & great service obviously small enough to care.

We had a lovely meal here, all 3 courses were excellent. Nice choice of wines and staff were very friendly. We would defiantly come here again and will be recommending to friends!

Nice friendly little place with good food. Enjoyed chocolate brownie particularly and slow cooked pork. My wife had the trout which was also good, worth visiting again.

This is a small establishment which seems to have a good following judging by the amount of walk ins. The food is of an excellent standard if a little small for the bigger appetite. Service was prompt without being intrusive. I would recommend this establishment strongly for smaller parties but not for very large family groups.

The food was superb (especially the king prawns, lamb cannon and vanilla brulee) and all the staff (owner, chef and waitress) were all super-friendly. Small place so a little chilly when the door opened, however the food and staff were so good that I'm not taking off any marks - highly recommended!

Excellent meal, we could not fault anything. It is a charming little restaurant with friendly atmosphere and staff. Amazing value for money and we would recommend it to anyone. But definitely need to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

cosy bistro style restaurant, we were a group of 4. We were made to feel very welcome b9th the waiter. Food was well presented and tasted lovely. Good choice of wine, we had merlot and sauvignon, reasonably priced. We will definately book again next time we visit York.

Just a lovely little restaurant with gr8 food. The fresh water trout was to die for, just perfectly cooked. . A gem of a find! We will definitely be back.

Steak cooked to perfection and seafood risotto was devine. The restaurant is small but this makes for a more relaxed atmosphere with good service. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

An day in York was finished off in style at the Corner Grill House. The food was excellent, the price was very reasonable, and the waitress was a star.

Very nice little restaurant, just outside the centre. Not many tables so need to book early to get the time you want. Friendly staff and great food. I had the beef fillet and it was cooked perfectly, I also had a pick from the other plates and they were all delicious. Would definitely recommend 👍🏼

Small cozy restaurant with thoughtfully prepared food. Enjoyed our dinner here; I got the chicken and my companion the rack of lamb, both very flavorful. Also appreciate the friendly service from our hostess/server.

Such a cosy and welcoming restaurant. It’s very small and has nice atmosphere. The choice on the menu was quite simple and looked lovely. Food was exceptional - fantastic quality and cooked perfectly. The service was really friendly and efficient. I can’t recommend highly enough and hope to go back if I’m visiting York.

Great service and lovely food, ideal for a pre-theatre dinner. We chose the set menu and everything was well presented and cooked to perfection. We especially liked the mixed grill starter

Fantastic three course meal which was high quality and great value. Will definitely return and would recommend booking a table as it is very cosy.

Fantastic restaurant. Waiter/ waitress very attentive. Must agree with previous reviews that the Corner House does not look anything special, until you get inside and try the food. My wife and I tried the set menu, the pork medallions and lamb being the highlights. Highly recommend the whole menu...😀 (note if your doing the fixed menu, this finishes at 8pm on a Saturday.) Intimate atmosphere. Would I go back again- yes without fail. 👍👍👍

Cosy neighbourhood restaurant with great atmosphere and friendly service with simple food cooked well. Good value. Worth visiting - we will certainly make it somewhere we go to regularly.

The food was wonderfully cooked with portions just the right size to get through three courses and not be rolled home. The service was very friendly and relaxed.
