We recommend starting with the chicken liver pate with toasted brioche and spiced apple chutney, and then for the main event sampling their famous poulet Breton chicken reared in the heart of rural Brittany in the west of France, served with frites and choice of sauce – we recommend the provençale sauce, a blend of cherry tomato, basil, garlic, caramelised onions and black olives.
Be sure to book in advance because this très magnifique brasserie is fast becoming the go-to restaurant for relaxed, yet elegant dining.
Really good restaurant in a fabulous setting tucked away in a pretty courtyard. Lovely food, which is excellent value, and great service from very attentive staff.
As a regular diner at this nice restaurant, I hosted friends who were visiting the UK from Spain. The fish and minute steaks were very good and served by friendly staff. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and I shall undoubtedly return in the near future.
I use Cote regularly for lunch - staff helpful and very pleasant. Food delivers and the new 'Prestige' menu is a welcome addition. Nice wines too.
Service could not be faulted, all food excellent, house wine delicious and at perfect temperature so had two!. A very enjoyable birthday evening. Thank you
Yet again a really good experience at Côte Bath. Went with 4 others to celebrate my birthday. Great service from all the staff and very tuneful singing of Happy Birthday when bringing the cake. Food was the usual high standard except for the Côte de Boeuf which although cooked to perfection was presented on a wooden board and therefore it went cold very quickly. When you are sharing and taking a piece at a time then not good. Would not order again.
Lovely meal out for our 7 year anniversary. Had mentioned this when booking and was given a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival and a table with a great view! Waiting staff were all very attentive, although did have to wait a bit too long for someone to take our dessert order but the fondants were worth the wait. Our food was beautiful Steak Tartare melt in the mouth and the Veal Loin special was delicious. My wife chose the cheese flat bread (don't except me to attempt to spell what it was called on the menu) and the Poulet Grillé both very tasty, when I was eventually allowed a bit. Would definitely return.
The restaurant was well laid out and we were pleased to have a window table. Staff were lovely and there were plenty of them if you needed anything. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and plenty of it. I think the price was reasonable for the food. My only criticism was being charged £1.60 for a 'splash' of lemonade in my brandy. Also, when I booked I mentioned it was our Silver Wedding anniversary and it would have been nice to have this acknowledged, maybe a free drink or an after meal chocolate, or even a mention would have been nice. But for these two things it would have been a 6. But we loved it and will definitely return when we next visit Bath. I have also recommended to friends who will be visiting,
Very pleasant lunch with an old friend I hadn't seen for a while. We were able to sit out on the terrace during a rare and unexpected sunny day - and had an extremely delicious meal (from the special 3-course menu) served by two polite, funny and efficient members of staff. I had the duck liver pate, the cod with leeks and lovely fries and a very lovely peach crumble. My friend also had the crumble, and also the spinach salad and steak/frites. All most acceptable - and she was extremely impressed to discover that I can eat as well in Bath as we both used to do in London! Thank you.
An excellent evening sitting outside in the early June evening sun - and it was warm. The service was excellent. The food was good and the general ambience was superb. Just a few things detracted from a near perfect occasion. I still firmly believe that a, so called, discretionary service charge of 15% automatically added to the bill is harsh. I don't mind tipping for good service, but when £21.00 of your £156.00 bill is a tip, it hurts a little. Asking for it to be reduced in front of friends is embarrassing, and Cote know this. Second, and more minor are those bl---y seagulls and what they leave behind. Not very hygienic and noisy too. Tyhirdl;y - oh yes! the food. My haddock wrapped in bacon was good, but overcooked.Easily done with fish.
I have been many times to this restaurant and think it is excellent as a chain restaurant. I have not given it 5 on this occasion as the service was very disorganised. Arriving on the top floor I spoke to a waitress and gave her my booking details which included a freebottle of wine. Unfortunately upstairs was closing so I was politely asked to see someone downstairs for a table. In short we spoke to a someone and given a seat and then had 3 different waiters / waitresses to take our order again explained to all about the wine which started to get tedious. Then when the bill arrived the bottle of wine was on it. This is not my usual experience and as always all staff were lovely just disorganised.
