They were very accommodating and let us dine nearly 45 minutes earlier than the booking I'd made and we received very polite and efficient service as usual and the food was extremely tasty.

we arrived after a visit to a local gallery and it was as though we were meeting friends - amazing welcome and Laura, the manager, was particularly helpful - we had a slight problem with one of our meals which is very very unusual and the waiter offered to take it back but we were in a hurry and so declined but I noticed that he saw Laura and at the end of our meal it was clear that Laura had taken notice and had sorted this out - this is the sign of a very good manager as we came away feeling that we had been listened to and that the Manager had taken steps to try to remedy things. I have to say that this in no way is meant as a complaint - it is more of a compliment and we will eat here again and again as we like it so much Trevor

First time at Cote Chelmsford. We were due there at 13:00 hrs but turned up a bit early, no problem, a warm welcome and we were taken to a table straight away. The waiting staff were very friendly and explained all the various food selections that were on offer. We ate from the a la carte and specials menus and we kicked off with Melon and ham which was great. We following it up the duck breast for me and duck comfit for her. Mine was just right but my wife's was seriously over done, near to cremation. Decision time, send it back or carry on. The problem of returning a meal is what happens to the meal which is ok. We carried on. Then on to dessert - Crème Caramels for two and they were delicious. So ended our first visit. We did mention the overdone duck to the waitress and she did say that we should have returned it so you could argue it was down to us. Anyway, overall a good visit and meal spoiled a little bit by v crispy duck.

First of all your staff was excellent - they were very busy and I drink wine quickly so I had to serve myself a couple of times but when things got quieter I got a very high level of service and my glass replenished. The onion soup was almost as good as we had in Paris 10 years ago and certainly the best we have had in the U.K. We had the T bone sliced steak for 2 - it was cooked perfectly as was the carrots and green bean sides - however the plates were not as hot as I would have liked and what a pity you serve skinny fries in plastic pots which get cold quickly. Thick cut chips would stay warmer longer. Finally there was no indication that you served liqueurs - we finished off our meal with amaretto and bailey's but had to ask if you sold them as their was no indication clearly visible on the menu. So close to 6 - well done but not the best establishment in Chelmsford yet.

We had a simply delicious meal here. We were welcomed warmly and our attendant was very charming. We selected our food then the wine. We chose a particular wine, although we were advised another was better with our menu choice, but we thought it would be too dry. The sommelier, a very pleasant young woman with an obvious passion for wine came to our table and advised us that the other wine would be really delicious, and we could try it with no obligation to go ahead with it. We accepted her offer and were so glad we did; it wasn't dry, in our understanding of that word, and complemented our menu perfectly. I have never had that level of interest shown me before at a restaurant. Very impressive. We will be returning. Thanks to all staff at Cote Brasserie, Chelmsford!

We had a lovely evening in Cote Chelmsford and will definitely go back, the food was very good indeed, we arrived in time for the pre fix menu so excellent value as well. The service was really good, plus staff were friendly and welcoming. The girl in the red dress gets top marks! The place was cean had good loos and great G&Ts. The reason I did not give full marks was that we could smell cigarette smoke wafting in from the front door, other customers had gone outside and stood under the awning right near the door rather than a thoughtful distance away. Perhaps Cote could put some sand pots for butts right away from the front door to alleviate this.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at Cote, Chelmsford. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and each of the three courses we had were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. The highlight of our evening was the service we received from our waiter, Lisandro, He made the experience thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed from start to finish and was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine. Our bill, which consisted of three courses each, a bottle of wine and several beers cost us just over £100 (including gratuity) which for the experience we had was worth every penny. Highly recommended.
