More about Côte Brasserie - Haywards Heath, Haywards Heath

It’s the finer details that make this French haven truly special, and you really get the feeling you’re dining in a Parisian bistro. With a stunning interior and charming outdoor terrace, Côte Brasserie is the ideal spot to sit back, relax and enjoy delicious French cuisine. The team behind the Haywards Heath restaurant have created a relaxed and comfortable space with warm and friendly service that the locals are loving. Situated on The Broadway in the town centre, Côte Brasserie offers a menu that is fresh, seasonal and unique and can cater to everyone, no matter your dietary requirements.

It can definitely be hard to choose from all their wonderful options, but we do recommend perhaps starting with the traditional steak tartare, finely chopped raw beef mixed with shallots, capers, cornichons, egg yolk and cognac, before the main event of poulet grillé, chargrilled butterflied chicken breast with wild mushroom, crème fraîche and thyme sauce, served with gratin potato from the plats rapides menu. Conveniently located in the town centre, Côte Brasserie in Haywards Heath is relaxed and stylish, so make a reservation to secure your favourite seat in the house.

Excellent lunch as always at Cote Haywards Heath. Very warm welcome from Tosh and his team. Confit duck was good, and the signature pudding (crème caramel) was delicious.

Five of us dined at Cote in Haywards Heath yesterday. although the restaurant was very busy the service was great and we all had a great meal. I was especially impressed by my Rump of Lamb which was delicious. Thanks to all the staff.

Visited the restaurant for the 1st time with my wife for our Anniversary. Overall it was an enjoyable meal, the food was good, liked the restaurant. It was fairly noisy but it was a busy Saturday evening so understandable. Not sure how that would have affected the experience if it was a group of us though as I can imagine having trouble holding a group conversation, 1 to 1 was fine though. The only bits i can pick on i'd say were service related. The guy 'greeting' at the door seemed to be more interested with playing with his ipad than actually welcoming us. I am a great fan of using tech to improve the running of operations etc but not at the expense of the personal human touch. A simple "hello and welcome. Please bear with me i won't be a moment" would have been fine rather than an awkward wait to see if he actually realised we were there before hardly looking up and saying "just a moment". Not a great first impression. The second issue was the incessant "upselling" by our waiter. He seemed intent on trying to milk every opportunity to push more. He stated off by assuming we would want wine and recommending a certain bottle. He also recommended bread with our starter and suggested a side (spinach, which neither of us like but are more than capable of choosing from the menu ourselves) for our main. I nearly laughed when he brought the jug of water and seemed to emphasise that it was "on the house". Why thank you! Here's a tip, if you annoy a customer enough pushing for an extra £ or 2 for a side etc then they won't come back. If you concentrte on giving them what they want instead of pushing sales, they will return and you'll get even more ££. Pretty simple! As mentioned, food was good and overall good night, just let down a little by the service.

As always, we received a warm welcome and were seated promptly having been given the option of two tables to choose from. The menu is quite extensive and is full of provincial French gems plus Breton chicken and several steak options. As an appetizer for four, we chose to share a variety of flatbreads, olives, saucisson, and the most delicious calamari that came with a chopped garlic and parsley topping. We followed that with a duck confit for two, a Breton chicken and the pork belly. Everything came well presented with generous plated sides, substantial, hot and tasty and pretty soon, there was nothing left. My only gripe is that for £3-50, the extra side dishes are tiny and are barely enough for one person; they should be made bigger and there should be an option to have a larger portion, but for a nominal extra charge. We shared a sticky chocolate fondant for two and one had vanilla ice cream and the only reason I did not give six stars for this meal was that we had to repeatedly ask for more water to be brought when our own server was elsewhere; she was marvellous, but several others were not so attentive. I can highly recommend Cote as a chain and Café Rouge might as well close down now.

Arrived at 6.30pm. Not too busy. Service & food were very good. As it got busier the noise element was quite loud & service slowed down. Overall food quality very good, enjoyable night. We thought the added 12% service charge a bit steep on a small table of 4, so declined & offered a tip to waitress that served us. We will go back again as good quality always good. Best to pick a time when not so busy tho for better service & being able to hear one another talk. !!

Very enjoyable evening with excellent service. Most impressive was the fact that, having asked for a gluten-free menu, I was informed that the majority of dishes could be prepared gluten-free. This enabled me to choose from the entire menu. I was advised that, due to this, there might be a slight delay as it would be prepared freshly, but this was no problem. I would prefer to wait for freshly cooked, hot food than to have something that has been prepared well in advance and reheated! So, well done to Cote Brasserie!

Both my friend and I had lovely meals. My friend hadn't been to HH restaurant before and was pleasantly surprised on appearance when we arrived. Our waiter was very helpful and explained all 3 menus so we could decide what to have. The atmosphere was brilliant although got quite noisy as evening went on but that was because so many customers had arrived but not a problem. I have been to a number of you restaurants and can't fault any of them but this one is probably my favourite.

Côte Brasserie - Haywards Heath. We were greeted by a welcoming smile...... We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary by enjoying a delicious three course lunch accompanied by a complimentary bottle of white wine. One of the very best restaurants found in West Sussex.
