Very good - delicious food, well prepared and delivered when we wanted it. Smashing wine, recommended by Benny, the excellent waiter. It would have been the top score except I asked for a pud from the daily specials rather than the normal menu and was told I couldn’t have it in case lots of other people wanted it! Um. Anyway, I was saved from myself and we were offered a bottle of wine on our next visit - thank you. I’ll just dream of the pain perdu........!

This is the first time I have ever been disappointed with Cote. My food was not as good as usual. The waitress hovered too much near our table. If it had been my first visit I would think twice about going back but as I know how good Cote usually is I will be back.

Very nice food, restaurant felt a little cramped and not clear where the toilets are. However, overall a very good experience- lovely food with great service.

you were excellent as usual, despite us having to change the times for an hour earlier. The meal and service were great 4 happy punters :-)

Including 12.5% service tip charge in total was over the top. Service should come as standard and customer should not be forced to pay tips regardless of service ( as it’s not a buffet or self service!) It didn’t feel right.

Great food, arrived promptly and all together. Very good gluten free menu with nearly as much choice as the main menu. Great care was to make sure our team member ordering from this menu had food that was safe for her to eat but was served at the same time and didn't isolate her from the rest of the party.

A very good breakfast/brunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were welcomed and shown straight to the table. We ordered the full English breakfast, but it was suggested to have the 'formule', which was much better value for money as it also included a choice of hot drink and fresh juice. Both food and service were excellent. Highly recommended and will try it again.

I come here a lot and the food and service are always exceptional. The manager is a wonderful and friendly man, who is always lovely and polite.

A few evenings before Christmas and the restaurant was very busy with large groups at their Christmas parties. Despite this, my friend and I were never forgotten and had excellent service all the way through the meal, a tasty and well presented dinner, plus a wonderful festive atmosphere. Thank you and well done Cote!

Really like Cote and good was good as usual. Lunchtime set menu is good value and wide choice of wine. Reasonable service given it was very busy just before Christmas

Lovely food as always but menu could do with an update. I also disagree with putting a service charge of 12.5% on a bill for two people- cheeky. However service was particularly good this time.

Lovely atmosphere, great food and service. Good choice of food and valve for money. Decent size deserts! Had a lovely evening with friends. The round tables upstairs are nice for a larger group.

This is one of the best restaurants in Reading. Yes it's a chain but this particular branch of Cote is well managed, staff is always nice, place is always clean and the food is tasty and consistently delivered to expectations of good quality.

Very good service and lovely food. Great for lunch. Much better than many at the Oracle riverside and surprising for a chain. Will visit again.

The food was pretty good and came out quickly. However, the Tarte au citron was terribly sour and no one was able to eat it. The manager had comped our meal for the dessert. The only time we saw our server was when she would bring food. We didn't have any water or wine left for anyone at our table. They added on the optional gratuity to our bill and then told us that we couldn't take it off and had to pay it. We weren't going to pay for service that was non existent. They eventually took the gratuity off the bill after we had stated that it said 'Optional' right on the bill.

At a very busy time, portion of soup was not hot enough, but speedily replaced without demur. Otherwise, food very good and amazing value for money

I go here regularly and always find the service to be friendly, welcoming and prompt. The food is lovely, with a great selection of dishes that cater to every taste. Highly recommended, and good value.

Pretty poor food - very bland. Slow and inaccurate service - overall very disappointing visit and not inclined to visit another cote restaurant soon again.

Staff excellent in a very busy restaurant. Complimentary Kir Royale when we were asked if we would move upstairs to allow a group with a wheelchair to have a downstairs table. Food good value and tasty although the chicken was a little over cooked. A good atmosphere.

Good service and helpful staff. Food fine but slightlky disappointed that my fish was served with only fries and NO veg - I am only non dairy and not against veg!!

Could not fault the quality of the food but drinks were expensive. Very enjoyable as it was our wedding anniversary. We will visit again soon.

Food was good , service was also good however had to wait 15 minutes to pay at the very end , restaurant was very busy !!

We went to Cote at Reading last night and ate early before going to the Vue. We had a three course meal with wine, and all courses were excellent as usual! The spinach & mushroom crepes were delicious, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the fish parmentier. The service was excellent, and the restaurant itself is very spacious, so we enjoyed a sense of privacy at our table.

Took my sister here today - her first visit. She was very impressed with the menu, the atmosphere, the quality of the food, the service from your staff. She would have been impressed with the cost but I paid!

Nice food however, felt we were being rushed to place our order. Food arrived (main courses) less then 10 minutes after placing the order.. Overall experience felt very rushed sadly.

loved the Cote du bouef!! Would have been nice to have our coats/ jackets taken on arrival! Wine selection could have been better but i would definitely go to Cote again as we had a good evening 😊

It was a busy night but the service was impeccable from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The food was of the excellent standard that I have come to expect from Côtes. Would definitely return.

Great atmosphere, good service on a Saturday evening but disappointed with my meal, bland and tasteless duck. My friends had steaks which they said were great.

We love going to Cote Brasserie in Reading. The food is wonderful and so is the service. Its not overly expensive, we love it there!

Wonderful meal with even better options on the set menu. Always a highly enjoyable experience. The Fish Stew was divine. We will be back for Christmas!

Food was excellent as always. Menu has regular favourites as well as monthly seasonal specials. Attentive and relaxed service, professionally delivered makes for a good evening.

Had a lovely lunch today at Cotes in Reading with friends. We all has the set menu which is excellent value for money. The food was delicious and very well presented. All the staff were attentive and kind people. Will definitely eat here again and recommend to family and friends.

We really enjoy coming here, for a chain restaurant it doesn't feel that way. The staff are always friendly, efficient and the food lovely and atmosphere perfect
