About Da Beppe

There are some things in life that just shouldn’t be messed with, and several of those things are Italian dishes. Da Beppe is about as authentic as it comes for Italian food in Fitzrovia – no pomp and circumstance, no fluff, no fuss, no fantastical marketing campaigns, just good, honest Italian fare done as it would be by nonna. Found on Cleveland Street, Da Beppe makes fresh pasta in-house practically to order, tossed in the traditionally basic but perfectly complementary Italian combos, from simple ricotta and spinach to a hearty Bolognese sauce. Throw in their tasty antipasti options, beautiful sharing platters, bona fide traditional desserts (the Sardinian seadas – fried pastry with pecorino, citrus zest and honey – are to die for) and the fact they also have a section serving as a sports bar, and you’ve got a satisfying combination of quality, superb value and entertainment almost unheard of in central London.

It was excellent! The starter and the mains, a seafood risotto for two was very tasty. The wine a Trebbiano, was fresh and cold, we also had a glass each of a very tasty prosecco, and it was as cold and bubbly as we expected! For dessert we chose a tiramisu and it was ok but not great, the biscuit hard and dry, although the cream was nice, and it did not look like the traditional one either. But we were happy with all the rest, including great service! I would go back and I recommend it!

The food was delicious, well prepared and beautifully presented. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The opportunity of visiting a place the first time with a voucher is a wonderful experience to get to know new restaurants in areas that I don't know.

We had a lovely time there, the food was very good, especially the tiramisu and chocolate cake desserts! The best thing though was the stuff, mainly the lively waitress, who remembered us from our previous visit three weeks prior!
