We recommend starting your meal at Poole’s Da Vinci’s off by sharing some antipasti like the arancini balls, calamari fritti or the mushrooms stuffed with dolcelatte cheese, topped with breadcrumbs and drizzled with honey. Then, tuck into a hearty pasta dish of some authentic Italian pizza, or one of Da Vinci’s mains like the saltimbocca alla romana (slices of veal topped with parma ham, sage and butter). Our first visit. Great location. We received a very warm welcome which was supported by attentive service and excellent food. We shall certainly return on our next visit to Poole.
Great food and lively atmosphere. Good service despite how busy it was on a Saturday night. Very extensive menu, with interesting specials on the board.
The owner shook my hand and welcomed us both. The menu was extensive but he took his time to passionately inform us of the specials and how they are cooked. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced considering the quality. I would have no hesitation in returning or recommending this establishment to anyone. All of the waiting staff were genuine Italians too.....that made for an authentic Italian experience.
There were 7 of us for dinner. Friendly, helpful staff who were very accommodating. Lovely atmosphere and absolutely delicious food. Our guests were from Sydney and loved Da Vinci’s as did we.
I was called to confirm our booking which was good as we were a table of 10 who booked same day! We received great service and food as always from the Da Vinci's team. We had a a really lovely evening. Super choice of Italian classics and always the fresh fish specials.
Excellent food and service - very friendly staff. We were a table of 7, including 2 children. The extensive menu catered for everyone in our party. It is perhaps a little more expensive than your average Italian restaurant but the extra cost is well worth it. The food was freshly prepared but still arrived very quickly. Portion sizes are very generous, both for main dishes and desserts. (We didn't order starters so can't comment on those). Highly recommend, and well worth a visit.
Extremely noisy, could not have a conversation due to noise from large party, nothing done to ask them to tone down. My starter was cold even though topped by melted cheese, don't know how they managed that. Some staff were very good but others could not speak English. My hubby had to ask three times for some bread before we got any as the waiter didn't understand. Overall not great, no water at table, at the prices charged I would expect better, I don't need a waiter to put my napkin on my lap, I do need one who sees the table is clean and correctly set with everything we need.
The menu was excellent with a very good variety of dishes. The food quality was also excellent, well presented and cooked to perfection. The restaurant is situated in a good location on Poole Quay. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately on the cold, wet, Wednesday evening in January that we went we were the only two people in the restaurant so the atmosphere wasn't great, but I'm sure on a slightly busier night it would be fine.
My two friends and I had a very enjoyable evening at Da Vinci's . There was a lively atmosphere in a comfortable environment. The food was extremely tasty and although it was busy the service was good.
Even though it was a busy Saturday night, Da Vinci's provided excellent food, service and ambiance which made this family dinner one to remember. Thank you to all the staff.
