Excellent great food & staff made you fill so relax
Haven't been for a number of years but it was everything I remembered, great service, amazing food, and a lovely atmosphere. My only comment or request would be when it's quiet don't put everyone who is there in the same corner... It makes it feel a bit crowded! That said would totally recommend and will be back.
Everything was really good - staff were friendly, helpful and attentive as usual.
Food and service was first class, we have never eaten here before and it was recommended as a lovely place to celebrate 30 years together. Definitely going back and would highly recommend for any occasion
We had a really great time at Da Vinci's yesterday. It was a 70th birthday celebration comprising of 8 afults and seven young children. The restaurant serves totally authentic Italian food and delicious sour dough pizzas. Right from the beginning we were looked after so well in typical Italian style. The staff were extremely welcoming and efficient. In spite of our being a large party the food was served promptly and the children's options were just right. It will be our regular go to place for Italian food from now on. Thank you Da Vinci's. You made our celebration extra special. Jacqueline Girling
I was called to confirm our booking which was good as we were a table of 10 who booked same day! We received great service and food as always from the Da Vinci's team. We had a a really lovely evening. Super choice of Italian classics and always the fresh fish specials.
Lovely meal as always, and beautifully presented. I went for the pollo d'aglio which was gorgeous, and the home-made coffee tiramisu which was really different to what I was expecting, and if I'm honest, a bit on the small side for the price - however tasted wonderful. Only disappointment was that there was a lack of customers - which was surprising considering its Friday before Christmas, so lacked a bit of atmosphere, as it's usually buzzing in there! Also, not sure if the heating was on (if so, it was very low), or if there was a door open somewhere, but I seemed to be sat in a cold draft. However, overall very nice evening, good food and friendly staff.
A great Italian restaurant on Poole's iconic Quay. Da Vincis has a wide and varied menu and the quality of the food we were served was very good, in fact the seafood risotto was one of the best I have tasted. The description for the garlic bread describes it as rustic but be warned it is a slice of what appeared to be either bloomer bread or sourdough that is cut in half and smothered in garlic butter served with a little mixed leaves and a few slices of tomato. Of all the dishes we ate this was the only one where we question value for money at £4.25 without cheese and £4.85 with cheese.
When booking I requested a nice table as it was our wedding anniversary, we were shown to what MST be the busiest most crowded part and sat on a tiny little table amongst families etc, not a great start but we were prepared to give it the benefit of doubt, our starters arrived in just a few minutes but my Camembert was cold and the salad on the side had been thrown on with no imagination, care or thought, my husbands garlic bread was ok but same lack of attention to the salad again, our mains arrived very quickly, I had ordered scallops and king prawn linguine on my plate were 3 scallops, 2 king prawns, a whole load of pasta and a couple of cherry tomotoes thrown in, the whole dish was pretty tasteless, my husband had the cabanara which had slightly more flavour than mine, we asked 2 waiters for the desert menu and waited patiently for them to arrive, 20 minutes passed and still no sign of these menus, we asked for the bill and hey presto we got it in 30 seconds!!! Sadly it’s just another example of pile them in, stack them up and get rid as quickly as possible, in these financially trying times and in light of businesses having to fight for custom where have the old ‘care about the customer’ values gone? in short they lost out because we would of ordered another bottle of overpriced wine, deserts, coffee and brandy but there you go, we won’t bother going back to Da Vinci again!
Excellent food and service - very friendly staff. We were a table of 7, including 2 children. The extensive menu catered for everyone in our party. It is perhaps a little more expensive than your average Italian restaurant but the extra cost is well worth it. The food was freshly prepared but still arrived very quickly. Portion sizes are very generous, both for main dishes and desserts. (We didn't order starters so can't comment on those). Highly recommend, and well worth a visit.
