Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in Glasgow, but Don Costanzo is a name that really manages to stand out from the rest. A fixture in Glasgow’s Italian dining scene, Don Costanzo has been winning over hearts of foodies for over thirty years, first as the Caprese Restaurant in the city centre, before moving over to the West End. You’ll find this Italian gem located in a townhouse basement on the picturesque Woodside Crescent, just a short walk from Charing Cross subway station. Book a table now and head on over to Don Costanzo for refined Italian classics, from mouthwatering meat and seafood dishes to pastas made fresh from scratch – bellissimo!
GREAT NIGHT OUT IN A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE , GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE , AND FIRST CLASS FOOD !. WE WOULD RECOMMEND AND WE WILL RETURN IN THE FUTURE .
Booked this as it was near the theatre. It was a lovely authentic Italian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the specials from the menu which were fresh and very tasty. I would recommend a visit.
Wonderful food and cosy welcoming atmosphere. Really traditional decor. Super specials. Lots of returning guests recognised by the family. It feels like coming home! Fabulous.

The Caprese was long my favourite restaurant in Glasgow and then I moved away. This was my fist visit back for a while and my first visit to the replacement restaurant Don Costanzo. It was as good as the old restaurant. The welcome from Costanzo's daughter was warm and friendly, the pasta y fagioli (this time with lentils and not beans) was as good as ever and the chicken with mushrooms and tomatoes with sauté potatoes was superb. My wife's king prawns was first class. We now live too far away to be back regularly - but we will be back.
We arrived on a very snowy night to a very warm welcome from the staff. Restaurant was cosy and warm. Excellent choice of dishes on the menu. We were spoilt for choice. Food arrived promptly and was excellent - very tasty. Also very good house wine and coffee to finish. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant and will definitely return when we are back in Glasgow.
Good food, good service the ambience was just right everything an Italian restaurant should be right down to the owner himself. Who else but a chef patron could get away with both insulting his customers whilst making them laugh and feeling right at home. Cannot wait to go back.
Both myself and my 2 friends thought that the food, wine and service in this restaurant was the best Italian food we have ever had! We shared 3 different starters and 3 different mains and 1 dessert .Every part of the meal was sublime. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The most authentic Italian Ristorante in Glasgow, no pizza here. Situated in a nice terrace with very warm and welcoming, friendly and engaging staff. The food is excellent, the specials to die for and the recommendations top class with the chef willing to discuss personal needs.
Amazing!! Everything from the lovely staff, giving us a warm welcome, and tempting us with the fresh “specials menu”, a great selection on their ala Carter menu and the delicious wines. My steak with pepper sauce was mouthwatering. Can’t fault anything. We’ll be back very soon
