Fully enjoyed the food, lots of choice and it was really tasty. I went with 2 girlfriends as a catch up, the restraint wasn't overly busy which was just the right atmosphere for a catch up. We were the last people in the restraunt and didn't feel rushed to leave. I would highly recommend eating here.

couldn't fault the food or service, Portuguese chips are gorgeous and steak was the best I've ever had. keep up the good work and standards and we'll keep returning

The restaurant is excellent from the food down to the friendliness of staff. Service is with a smile and helpful explaining about the dishes. I would recommend to all and the Portuguese trifle is to die for. Excellent

Food was gorgeous. We had olives and bread, i had the crispy pancakes hubby had sardines for starters. Then i had piri piri chicken and hubby had t-bone steak. Reasonably priced and nice portions. Staff was helpful. Very clean and nicely decorated.Would go back again and definately recommend...

Excellent choice of food on the extensive menu. The mussels were great. The food was well prepared and with good and pleasant service. We will be back!

Lovely people but lamb was hard to cut and food was dry. But will try it again Dessert was gorgeous best tiramisu I've ever had !

Booked a table for a party of six. Met by very friendly staff who were very attentive and helpful. Plenty of good food,all cooked the way we asked. Definitely will be back in the near future.

We had a wonderful evening at Douro Valley for my sons birthday, food was excellent, service was good and it had a lovely atmosphere! Definitely recommend!

Upon entering we were met with a friendly face, Milly, who we knew from a visit elsewhere in the area. This is her families business and she is the front of house. The whole package was very good. Clean, comfortable and welcoming, all you could ask for. We ate from the set menu and the Portuguese food was lovely as was the wine on draught. All in all a good night out, highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food and service. Varied menu and reasonably priced. It is now my favourite restaurant. You can't beat a well run family restaurant and that is exactly what the Douro Valley Restaurant is. Far better than any Pub Grub restaurant

Nice ambiance and quiet despite its position on a main road junction. Welcoming and very pleasant waitress. We had a collection of Tapas, all apparently cooked fresh to order. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent. The house wines were very good and reasonably priced. All in all a very worthwhile visit and one that we will repeat as often as the wallet allows.

Menu was varied and food served was really good. Wine menu only had Portuguese wine and the bottle recommended by the waitress was lovely. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Would definitely return again soon. Good value for money.

We had a very nice meal and the price was reasonable. The restaurant has comfortable surroundings. The service was excellent and the place spotlessly clean. The menu is extensive and everything was cooked perfectly. Pleasant atmosphere too! Recommended.

Second visit here and certainly won't be our last. Great service, great food lovely sangria and reasonably priced. Will return to this lovely restaurant very soon.

Good food, excellent service. We had the set lunch menu and it was delicious. A little daunting for anyone not liking garlic or fish, but then this is a Portuguese restaurant. Three out of the 4 starters were fish!

Lovely little family restaurant in Canvey high street. The food is absolutely delicious and prices are very good will definitely be going back again soon

The atmosphere is very nice at this restaurant, it makes one feel as if they are on holiday in Portugal. The food is excellent and the service very friendly.

My Husband and I have visited this restaurant several times now, taking my sister on one occasion and friends on another. As well as visiting on our own We cannot fault the service or food . This is a lovely place and we will go back

Lovely little restaurant, lovely food, good service and at a great price. Had the set menu as a weeknight for just 11.95 for 2 courses and a great choice on there. The main menu had such a wide choice it was hard to decide as all looked lovely and every dish I saw brought out looked great. Will definitely go again

We went there for our Anniversary and they had a specially setup table for us with Roses and candle light. The décor, service and food were all outstanding. We had 8 dishes of Tapas and thoroughly enjoyed all. I especially liked the fresh Muscles in the white wine and leak sauce. We are planning to go again very soon. The staff are friendly and atmosphere was perfect. the wait for the food was normal for the quality we had received. I do not mind waiting and paying good money for good food. The wait was well worth it. I will not hesitate to recommend this to my family and friend. Thanks Mat Batchelor

We ate here on a Saturday night. The food was delicious, we had tapas to start and shared a paella for the main. The staff were delightful. We will definitely visit again.

We were asked to move our booking from 7:30pm to 8pm which we did unfortunately there was a large party in there when we arrived and we were sat right next to them as a party of 4 2 glasses were broken on the large party table and we couldn't hear each other talk however as soon as another table became available they did move us you could see the staff were very uncomfortable with the situation however I feel perhaps they were too young to deal with it ( the waiter was only 17 bless him!). Anyway when the food came out it was excellent really beautiful it did take a long time to come out but we were not in a hurry its just by the time the entrees came out it was quite late gone 9:30pm ! It would have been nice to have been offered a tea/coffee or a drink on the house for the delays but we would go back again however I would not want an 8pm booking in case it took as long again. Oh and 2 of the dishes we wanted to order they didn't have one being the tri Colour salad they didn't have avocado as they were not ripe yet ( pretty sure you could get some ripe ones during the day ) and the Lamb Shank that was on the specials board to be told it had been up on the board for a few days ! Perhaps they should have told us that before we sat choosing for 1/2 hour my! On the table we had garlic tiger prawns then filet mingon, Mussels then lamb cutlets, white bait then baby squid and chorizo skewer and mussels followed by baby squid and king prawn skewers the food was excellent so worth the wait in the end !

Great service and lovely food . We have been a few times and always enjoyed pure visit . Would recommend this to anyone thinking of going .
