This stunning bar and restaurant has become something of a Liverpool institution. Set within a building steeped in history on Penny Lane in the city’s Wavertree area, Dovedale Towers has retained all of its old fashioned charm while it has been given a stylish modern update. With an extensive and varied menu of classic pub cuisine and a well stocked drinks cellar, it is no wonder that it has become the beloved local of many Liverpudlians – not to mention the Beatlemaniacs in the area looking to hideout after pinching a street sign!
A firm favourite amongst the numerous bars and restaurants that line Liverpool’s increasingly popular Penny Lane, at Dovedale Towers you will find a range of delicious British pub food alongside some international options. From full English breakfasts to sandwiches, salads and burgers, for breakfast and lunch Dovedale Towers over in Wavertree has got you covered. Some delicious dinner options include quintessentially British options – beer-battered fresh haddock with mushy peas and tartare sauce – as well as some more exotic choices like a Moroccan chicken kebab with toasted pitta bread and scented rice.
Of course no British pub would be complete without a large selection of beers, ales, wines and spirits and Dovedale Towers is no exception. Take advantage of the massive beer garden on a sunny day, or sit inside and bask in the building’s traditional atmosphere. Whether it is for breakfast, lunch, drinks or dinner, with its charming setting Dovedale Towers is a popular choice pulling in a crowd from all over Liverpool to its Wavertree location. Make sure to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment!
We received attentive and very pleasant service for my Mum's birthday lunch. We had a roast dinner which was tasty and great value. I'll definitely return!
Really good to find a doggy-friendly place to eat/drink, they even provided a bowl of water for our dog. Food was tasty and good value, staff very friendly. My only small criticism is the table and utensils could have been cleaner but otherwise a very positive experience, I will be back.
My mum had the Beef burger and it was SO tasty (i stole a bite) And I had the scouse pie with chips :) Food was gorgeous, I couldn't manage a dessert (Gutted) Determined to try the sticky toffee pud on our next visit though! Can't fault the place. We were pleasantly surprised and horrified that we hadn't visited this gem sooner. (moved to the area a year ago). Lovely pub grub! Lovely staff!
