There’s a lot more to Mexican food than tacos and burritos, as El Mero Mero sets out to prove. Situated in the beautiful courtyard of Chijmes along Victoria Street, this restaurant takes the Central American cuisine to new heights by introducing Singaporean diners to a variety of dishes unique to the country, such as ceviches, enchiladas, and charcoal-grilled delights from the Josper oven. Not to be missed too, is the handpicked selection of mezcales, tequilas and speciality cocktails, handcrafted with the finest ingredients from Mexico which showcase its diversity. Reserve your table at this City Hall hotspot before seats fill up – we promise you won’t regret it!!
It’s not very often that we come across a Mexican restaurant in Singapore that delivers more than the usual staples of tacos and burritos, which makes going to El Mero Mero something worth looking forward to. El Mero Mero, or “the boss of the boss” in Mexican jargon, certainly lives up to its name with its bold, proud and forward-thinking approach, evident in a menu that presents the best of the best in specialities from every region in Mexico.
From its beautiful courtyard in Chijmes on Victoria Street, just minutes away from City Hall MRT station, pore over the variety of botanas, or appetisers, as you rev yourself up for the mains to follow. Whether you decide on an enticing street corn sampler or a bluefin tuna tostada, it’ll set you up nicely for the signature El Mero Mero ceviche or a hefty arrachera fajitas which features 250g of Black Angus flank steak, peppers and burnt onion cream. Save some room for desserts, for El Mero Mero’s tequila pecan pie will blow you away, as much as its intoxicating selection of handcrafted cocktails and spirits will. Embrace the full flavours of Mexico at this City Hall hotspot in the heart of Singapore. To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend that you book ahead at this one.
. . . Great cocktails and Food. Good for cassual but also for business meeting (in the inside area). . . . . . .
Great food and service. Octopus is a must try dish, not overcooked and rubbery. Was quite tender and juicy. Loved the cerviche and drinks too.
I love their food, their drinks and as well as their service provided. Good and beautiful ambience to dine in. Will definitely be going back there soon.
We visited we some friends. The fish tacos were the best! We also tried the carnitas, tacos al pastor and the octopus. All of which were excellent
Our dinner was stunning. From the service to drinks and food, this is a place to be. We had Cava brut to begin with. Lamb and prawn tempura tacos. Then head chef presented corn street sampler. Pisco sour were served while waiting for our mains. Grilled octopus is so tender and beef fajita is seasoned well. We capped off with pecan pie which was delicious.
Waiter was helpful to find a suitable table. But later on we had to get the waiters attention to make the order. The menu is a bit misleading on suckling pig 200gr. It says with fried banana in menu, but as food arrived we couldn’t see any and upon asking the waiter said it was in the sauce. To pay again we had to try to get a waiters attention and it took along time before the bill finally arrived. It was a busy night and maybe understaffed. Otherwise, food and drinks were great!
Nice Mexican food at El Mero Mero. My 2nd time here and it has pretty decent food though some dishes are a bit pricey. Anyway with the entertainer 1 for 1, you can save quite a bit!
I love the grilled corn and huitlacoche donut appetiser! The ambience of the restaurant at the CHIJMES courtyard was also fantastic, and i'd recommend El Mero Mero for a gathering or even special occasion.
Food was good, frozen margarita was good, service was friendly as usual. Thank you to the El Mero Mero crew for helping us have a wonderful evening!
As usual, El Mero Mero provides authentic Mexican cuisine with a touch of class. The food is complemented by an excellent drinks menu, which includes Tequilas and Mezcals. Great service too!
