During the golden hour, before a show at the Sydney Theatre Company or Roslyn Packer Theatre or after work on a balmy summer’s evening, what could be better than indulging in a spritz and antipasti platter? Not much really, so grab your nearest and dearest and head to Fratelli Fresh Walsh Bay immediately. Sydney is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and this Italian restaurant and bar fits right in. With views of the Sydney Harbour that can’t be matched and only a short walk to Barangaroo, there’s really no reason for missing Fratelli Fresh Walsh Bay.
As for the menu, well, this is where Fratelli Fresh really shines. Start, as the Italians do, with several antipasti. We love the crispy polenta with mushrooms and gorgonzola piccante; burrata topped with Sicilian caponata and the Fratelli antipasti board piled high with cured meats and gorgonzola. Then, tuck into a freshly-made pasta like the penne with lamb ragu and rosemary or gnocchi Piemontese of mushrooms, garlic crema, spinach and pecorino. Also serving heartier mains, Fratelli Fresh Walsh Bay is a foodie’s paradise. So book a table and head to Hickson Road – you won’t be disappointed!
Lovely staff and great service with a smile! Nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our pre theatre dinner and will go there again.
Food fantastic. Packed and loud (sunday lunch)...as you expect a trattoria to be... Friendly service from young waitstaff. My cousin, down from Qld, insists we must go again, upon his next visit to Sydney. We had an adventure getting there, that added to the day's outing...our cabbie had no idea where it was. Birra Moretti #1 and my cousin's bottle of Italian Rose, perfetto. Grazie.
I am always delighted with my meal at fratelli fresh but my husband was very disappointed is his crumbed veal and tomato spaghetti- the veal milanese. He felt it was just a crumbed veal chop with spaghetti which was not particularly tasty and not particularly cheap! I always love the stuffed zucchini flowers and the house salad. The waitstaff were excellent
