One of Chester’s most loved Indian eateries, in this old style curry house on City Road you will find a menu jam packed with all of the Indian staples – from the classic curry options to a large range of starters and side dishes. Open every day of the week and excluding a traditional Indian appeal and a warm atmosphere, Gate of India is a popular choice for dinner in Chester’s city centre.
The food was generally quite good and the service ok. Very draughty on a wintry night every time customers came in or out. This really spoiled the experience.
Left stood awkwardly at the door for 10 minutes before eventually being seated, other than that the food was nice, generous portions and reasonably priced.
Decorated in an ornate style, Gate of India on City Road in the city centre has garnered over 30 years practice in providing Chester’s curry lovers with their delectable Indian cuisine. This experience shows in their recipes, all of which possess an authentic flavour. You will find all of the classic curries on Gate of India’s extensive menu – from Sri Lankan dishes for those seeking a bit of spice to korma for those less daring and rogan josh, dansak, dupiaza, thali platters and pathia dishes amongst others too, all served with your choice of chicken, lamb or prawn.
Also boasting a wide range of vegetarian options, as well as a serious selection of side dishes – bhajis, breads and every type of Indian rice imaginable, get yourself down to Gate of India on City Road in the city centre for a true Indian feast.
