The passionate team at Goodman will never compromise on the quality of the beef that arrives at and is served by their kitchen. As such, meat here is sourced from around the world – where exactly is something that varies throughout the year depending on the quality available – and then aged in-house, with some six tonnes on site at any time. When you arrive at this particular Goodman restaurant on South Quay Square – right by both Canary Wharf tube and Heron Quay and South Quay on the DLR – you’ll find a selection of steakhouse classics that are loved by Londoners, as well as a fine section of wines and beers.
With such an array of options in London when it comes to eating steak, knowing you’re getting the very best is important. Fortunately, the menu at the Goodman Canary Wharf restaurant guarantees you precisely that. On South Quay Square, it’s impossible to doubt the quality of the meat here. Beef is sourced from all over the world, aged on the premises in a temperature-controlled, dehumidified environment, cut to exacting standards and then cooked at 375-400 degrees celsius in a premium Josper Oven. The results, quite simply, are sublime.
Just a few of the cuts you can expect to find at Goodman Canary Wharf include fillet, ribeye, New York sirloin and an ever-rotating menu of bone-in specials. Define how you’d like your steak cooked and what you’d like to complement it with – Goodman’s sauces and sides are fantastic – then choose a wine or beer to round things off. This Canary Wharf restaurant is best accessed via the Jubilee line or South Quay or Heron Quays on the DLR. It is, quite simply, one of London’s finest steakhouses that is absolutely worthy of a reservation.
The best customer service and steak I’ve ever had - compared to Hawksmoor and The Bull Steak Expert, Holborn. Will definitely return for a special occasion
Very good service and attentive staff. But, fundamentally, not intrusive to the experience. Beautiful quality steak and amazing sides. Would definitely eat here again soon!
My first visit, and I am already planning my next. Lovely restaurant, pleasant staff, My steak was cooked to perfection, those triple cut Chips are sensational.
Very good and efficient service. Supper friendly and helpful staff. Meal was good with good range of alternative options for dietary needs. No one was left waiting
We had the three course Christmas set menu for £38. The food was excellent and everyone loved everything they got. The salmon starter was tasty and fresh and just the right size. The steak was cooked to our requirements including one rare and one medium rare. Dessert was delicious. The service as always was attentive but not over bearing. Bare in mind there’s a 12.5% service charge and the lamb dish as part of the set menu has a £6 surcharge. Only thing I could recommend they do differently is that it would nice if they brought more bread between the entree and main - but that’s just being fussy. For 3 people, 3 course set menu, a bottle of wine and a cocktail each £252
Wonderful dinner at Goodman Canary Wharf. Great variety of steaks from 5 different regions---we chose a ribeye from Yorkshire, and one from the Lake District (both cooked perfectly medium rare). The truffle mac and cheese and truffle fries were both amazing! Goodman also has a nice wine selection to choose from. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Goodmans never disappoint. Its our 'go to' place even though we are based well out of London. We take all our Clients and family here for any and every occasion! Lovely staff, very friendly and accommodating. Helen and Jack are familiar faces and smiles whom we have got to know through frequenting Goodman Canary Wharf. Thanks for another enjoyable meal and evening last night!
I and my wife visited Goodmans. If you are vegetarian like my wife the choices are Very limited. The kind waitress recommended a pasta for my wife which was not on the menu. I guess it was food for the staff. My wife did not like the pasta one bit for the price we paid. However I had the Rib Eye Steak and that was definitely exquisite. If you are a steak lover they have a variety of different cuts and the meat is usually cooked to perfection. I would go here again for a steak but definitely not for vegetarian.
An excellent restaurant. I have visited Goodmans at Canary Wharf 4-5 times in 2017 and I have to say the experience is second to none. Lovely sides which are a little unusual from the norm which is why I like them. As for the steaks they are to die for. I've had all cuts but generally corn fed and they have always been excellent and good quality. The staff are really nice and go out of their way to be helpful to all.
The food was excellent, and the restaurant itself is buzzing. There was a bit of a problem with the order process though - we got a completely different main to what we ordered, and so they had to go away and start again. It was exceptionally busy and so perhaps understandable that things got confused, but we were a bit disappointed by this - the additional 30 minute wait meant we were very hungry when the food arrived! The manager was extremely apologetic and removed any charge for the mains from our bill - they handled the situation well, and I would imagine it was a genuine mistake unrepresentative of their usual standards. We will go back.
