Found just around the corner from Abergavenny Market in the town centre, maybe the secret behind the delicious food at Gurkha Corner is a constant supply of fresh meat, vegetables and spices. Whatever it is, the formula works. Gurkha Corner is an authentic Nepalese eatery on Nevill Street celebrating the culinary diversity found across Nepal and neighbouring South Asian regions. The menu at Gurkha Corner offers up a huge spread of Indian favourites like tandoori meats and saag paneer (a popular choice for vegetarians) alongside distinctly Nepalese tastes like their famous Kathmandu momos: fragrant, fresh, housemade steamed dumplings containing chicken or pork and served with sesame chutney – a staple snack of the high Himalayas. Those looking for something more exotic can get a true taste of Nepal with the bhutuwa, chicken liver stir-fried in a blend of Nepalese spices, ground fresh at Gurkha Corner in a traditional stone khal every day.
Food and service lovely as always. Recommend the Nepalese dishes, especially the nettle curry. Korma was a little bland, but that is the only dish I've had there that wasn't superb.
Party of four and everything was perfect. Great food and excellent service, could not fault our visit in anyway Will certainly be going back soon
The food and service was amazing, The manager even came over to chat with us and make sure everything was OK which it was. He even gave us a lift back to our hotel as the taxi didn't turn up... Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
